Position Summary

Leads multi facility (campus) or multi-modality operations. Leads the site(s) management team(s) driving the daily execution of all aspects of handling and processing Customer products. Responsible for ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements. Responsible for management of site(s) Safety culture and program. Has P&L responsibility for the facility/facilities.

What you will do

Operational Excellence (25%)

  • Responsible for development of Safety culture, programs and compliance. Leads Plant Safety
  • Leader of Lean Steering Committee (LSC) responsible for the lean transformation of the plant
  • Audits and improves SQDC board metrics and adjusts priorities based on countermeasure performance and business needs.
  • Audits SQDC board and adjusts priorities based on countermeasure performance and business needs. o Identifies and creates systems to visualize the flow of information and products allowing people to immediately detect and correct abnormal conditions.
  • Communicates and manages capacity utilization to internal and external Customers.
  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable operating regulations (FDA, ISO, OSHA, NRC, EPA, DOT)

 

People Leadership (25%)

  • Drives a culture of positive employee relations, including responsiveness to safety, employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, communicating clear expectations and accountability processes, demonstrating effective leadership presence.
  • Develops direct reports and ensures tools are in place to develop staff and succession planning.
  • Owns employee engagement and action items to provide ongoing, positive change to site culture aligned with STERIS Business Imperatives.
  • Responsible for employee performance management and corrective actions in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Provides final approval for recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.

Customer Relationships (25%)

  • Regularly interfaces with Customers to ensure service levels and expectations are met. o Partner with Sales leadership in conducting routine business reviews with Customers. o Resolves escalated Customer issues from the sterilization process.
  • Active involvement in Customer visits and Business Reviews. o Interface with Sales on Customer and capacity management.
  • Responsible for resolution of nonconformance resulting in Customer product reimbursement.

 

Delivering Results (25%)

  • Ensures performance across a range of activities and metrics within their area at the facility/campus level:
  • Manage Safety Program to ensure safe working environment. No OSHA Recordable Injuries or Days
  • Customer Service – Ensure Customer processing needs are exceeded from inbound receipt of product to return shipment.
  • Improve accuracy during product processing to eliminate Customer product damage and quality related issues (NC/CC). Investigate Quality issues and corrective action development.
  • Ensure adherence to Safety and Quality requirements while handling Customer products, operating equipment and performing routine job functions.
  • Engage workforce through use of Lean Principles while seeking to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). Development of Countermeasures and execution of Action Plans to improve daily performance.
  • Develop operating budget and manage area expenses to ensure P&L targets are achieved. o Recommend, submit and manage capital projects through completion.

Required Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree. Engineering or Business. 
  • 5+ years operations leadership and people management. 10+ years in lieu of degree 
  • 5+ years safety culture development and management 
  • 2+ years budget preparation 
  • 2+ years working across plant locations and with corporate functions 
  • 5+ years driving diverse and complex agendas (Customer, employee, SQDC)
  • 5+ years talent selection and development 
  • Direct Customer relationship management
  • Capacity management
  • Negotiations and influencing skills
  • Developing and delivering presentations
  • LEAN Manufacturing
