Join our Maintenance Team, working Four (4) 10 hour shifts! Working hours:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm

STERIS offers Benefit Insurances, 401(k) retirement savings, and a very generous PTO plan. 

For employees starting in March 2021, you will receive 14.25 days of PTO for 2021. That’s 2 weeks and 4 days for vacation, sick leave or whatever you need the time off for. In addition, you receive 6 paid holidays for 2021: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thursday AND Friday, and Christmas Day.

On January 1, 2022, you receive a bucket of 18 PTO days (that’s 3 weeks and 3 days!), AND 7 paid holidays (all of the above PLUS New Years Day).

 

Position Summary

Assists in maintaining and repairing all facility equipment, machinery and buildings while maintaining sufficient inventory levels.

Duties

  1. Contributes to maintaining a safe, secure and clean workplace. 
  2. Optimizes processing and reduces downtime by performing routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment, machinery and facility buildings.
  3. Contributes to production efficiency by responding to maintenance calls on a 24 hour 7 days per week basis as assigned. 
  4. Complies with all environmental requirements for waste.
  5. Ensures employee safety by adhering to all Lock-out, Tag out procedures; following the MSDS safety procedures when using chemicals.
  6. Strives for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve operations. 
  7. Maintains mechanical and technical skills knowledge and abilities by attending workshops, participates in training. 
  8. Successfully completes electrical and OSHA classes as demonstrated through hands on task demonstration and written test.
  9. Utilizes and updates spare part practices/policies/systems.
  10. Completes other certifications, i.e., forklift, welding, boiler, pesticide applicator, as identified by operator licenses/permits.
  11. Utilizes computer to complete work orders, forms, training, etc.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

What you will need for this postion:

  1. Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics or electrical applications. Will train as needed.
  2. Desire to learn.
  3. Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English.
  4. Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
  5. Requires computer literacy to include word processing, spreadsheet and software capabilities.
  6. Requires effective interpersonal skills as demonstrated through prior experience.
  7. Strong understanding of construction math, including geometry. 
  8. Able to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities
  9. Ability to read blueprints and schmatics preferred. Will train as needed. 
  10. Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc.
