Position Summary
The Advanced Mechanical Engineer will join a fast-paced GI R&D team developing new Automated Endoscope Reprocessors. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and cross functional team members during the development lifecycle phases from concept development through final release and sustaining support. The Advanced Mechanical Engineer position will utilize problem solving techniques and engineering principals such as statics, machine design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, material selection and fabrication to develop solutions for medical equipment. You will be involved in 3D Modeling, Design Controls documentation, Design Verification Testing and hands-on prototyping while developing new and innovative solutions for our customers.
What You'll do as an Advanced Mechanical Engineer
- Provide technical leadership in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies. Provide subject matter expertise in 3D modeling software and analysis tools and employ a design for manufacturability mindset.
- Lead development of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and generate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams grounded in industry experience.
- Lead cross-functional problem solving across departments
- Plan, direct, and execute product verification and validation actions and documentation activity
- Effectively communicate technical information to project and departmental leadership; preparing polished presentation materials and facilitating discussion
- Autonomously manage interactions with outside vendors to ensure components used are appropriate for use and delivered on time
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in specific subsystems and mechanical technologies.
- Create polished technical documents for testing, crating, shipping, installation etc.
- Evaluate and write technical requirements, demonstrating understanding and compliance with relevant industry standards
- Own responsibility for technical elements of multiple project schedules and scope of defined project deliverables
The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of related engineering experience (mechanical preferred)
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to tackle challenging technical problems with autonomy
- Strong understanding of project management, project scheduling, and work estimation
- Ability to lead discussion in a team environment across various engineering disciplines
- Track record of successful project deliverable execution
- Strong Engineering Analysis Skills
- Ability to employ both engineering and business mindsets
- Knowledge of advanced 3D modelling and drawing practices
The Preferred Experience, Abilities and Skills
- Subject Matter Expertise in Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
- New Product Development Experience
- Sustaining Design Experience
- Exposure to project management fundamentals
- Med-tech experience
- Strong experience in 3D modeling and PLM systems
- Computational Modelling experience (FEA, CFD, etc.)
- Product testing and validation experience
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and welding

Pay range for this opportunity is $100,500.00 - $134,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
