Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor role will have dual responsibilities : a) Responsibility of the correct generation and emission in time and shape of the financial information and treasury (cash flow, general balance, results´ status, bank conciliation, budget, analysis and financial interpretation), managing the correct application of standards, norms, policies and procedures, participating in the elaboration of the annual budget, identifying and documenting on a monthly basis its deviations, making sure the financial information is always reliable and available, and at the same time supports the decision making process for STERIS Solutions Entity and b) will be responsible for the tax area and fiscal compliance for 3 legal entities in Mexico.


  1. Guarantees the reliability and congruence of the financial information:
  • Responsible for the revision and validation of the correct registry of the financial and countable information during both daily and closing operations. 
  • Immediate correction of detected inconsistencies to make sure the information given is truthful and timely, so it supports effectively the decision making of the company. 
  • Monitor and register bank transactions.
  • Creates daily information for the countable registry, flow, executive and operational reports. 
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems

    2.  Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the Credit and collection process

    3. Guarantees the fulfillment of the company´s fiscal obligations:

  • Responsible for the creation of information of each fiscal year, to assure the operational continuity and avoid problems derived from any type of breach or violation against local, state or federal authorities for 3 legal entities in Mexico
  • Remain current on audit best practices as well as state, federal and local laws regarding company operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns

4.  Guarantees the elaboration and fulfillment of the company´s annual budget:  

  • Managing operational positions so they can provide the information needed for its construction based on the calendar and the stablished lineaments. 
  • Generating accurate financial statements budgeted in a timely manner with the purpose of having a reliable reference to offer continuity to the yearly objectives.
  • Concentrate and control the money generated, so the optimization and administration of resources can be reached, and its performance is maximized.  
  • Channel resources before being authorized to be used for payments to providers, projects, and operation expenses in general.

5. Makes sure policies and procedures are applied correctly to ensure the fulfillment of the processes that generate the financial information needed: 

  • Assures the correct application and reflection of the information in financial statements so they can be congruent and reliable.
  • Facilitates the fulfillment of the process of the company´s both internal and external audits.
  • Guarantees the adherence to the country´s standards and normativity.

6. Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team

Active participation of the safety, continuous improvement and training initiatives, which include but are not limited to: A3 Certification and projects, STOP Observations, Monthly Safety Audits, SQDC board maintenance, upgrade and administration of KPI for the area, propose and execute CIP (Cost Improvement Projects), maintenance of LSW sheet, upgrade and maintenance of initiatives using Dploy system 

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience required in similar roles
  • Language fluency in English and Spanish required
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, team building, written, verbal and analytical skills. 
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and self-direction
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and meet broad objectives
  • Ability to identify and facilitate complex solutions in the area of expertise 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and obtain the cooperation of others
  • Capability to work effectively with little supervision
