Position Summary
The Virtual Reality Designer at STERIS is responsible for creating VR content (models and presentation material to include UI and UX material) and instructional material for project, sales, service, and customer programs. This individual utilizes multiple programs as primary development tools for other downstream support functions and content including but not limited to immersive virtual reality platforms product configurators, and instructional material.
What You'll do as a Virtual Reality Designer
- Support Content Group in creating a standard workflow for (VR) content development and ongoing maintenance.
- Take direction on prioritization for VR content creation and meet set deadlines. Deadlines driven by customer need and support of the organization.
- Work with engineering/R&D and marketing for source files to develop standard expectations.
- Develop source files (STP, RVT, FBX, files, etc.) into VR content (OSGB files)
- Responsible for materials assignments, parametric details, artistry, and inverse kinematics (IK) on VR content.
- Responsible for User Interface development and User Experience design
- Provide one/one mentoring of daily responsibilities and skills within Content Group for cross functional multidisciplinary support.
- Develops content used for online learning, including interactive learning modules, to support the needs of the Healthcare Sales Training Department
- Supports the Healthcare Sales Training Department with design and development of unique material that has been identified for sales training content
- Utilizes appropriate tools and software to develop training content to be used with the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Travel as needed for ongoing training.
The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
- Bachelors Degree and 2 years of relevant experience OR High School diploma and 6 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience 3D modeling.
- Proficient in use of MS Office applications; Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word.
- Functional understanding of any of the following preferred; PRO-E, Navisworks, Inventor, Unity 3D, and Unreal3D.
- Basic functional user of AutoCAD & Revit
- Demonstrated proficiency in 3D Studio Max, Maya.
- Data base development / maintenance preferred.
- Functional understanding of healthcare planning philosophies and techniques, hospital design and Policies and Procedures.
- Working knowledge of healthcare applications and capital equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to develop and apply analytical approaches to assignments and to develop and implement solutions.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability to select, train and develop entry-level personnel.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with Architects, Consultants, Contractors and Customers on a professional level.

Pay range for this opportunity is $68,600 - $88,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
