Position Summary
A member of the Corporate Tax Department, whose purpose is to apply U.S. Federal, State and Local tax laws to the operations of STERIS plc’s U.S. entities in a manner which ensures compliance, minimizes tax liability and reduces tax and penalty exposure.
What You'll Do as a Tax Analyst
Work with parties within and outside the organization to:
- Assist with preparation and organization of Federal, State and Local tax income returns and supporting work papers
- Assist with preparation and submission of income tax payments
- Assist with accounting for income taxes including

- Recording current and deferred taxes and preparing supporting calculations
- Preparing account reconciliations
- Preparing other related schedules as needed

- Assist with review, accounting, and filing of indirect and property taxes as needed
- Assist with federal and state tax credits and incentives as needed
- Conduct related tax research and report conclusions
- Assist with audits and correspondence with taxing authorities as needed
- Assist with other filings and special projects as needed
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 or more years of experience in corporate taxation
- Candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred:
- An advanced degree and/or CPA certification is a plus.
- Emphasis on federal and/or state income tax compliance preferred but not required.
- ERP systems and tax compliance or provision software experience is a plus.
Other:
- Excellent analytical skills – must be able to analyze, not just compile information. Issues are complex, so attention to detail is mandatory.
- Self-starter, self-confident and self-motivated, as well as possess the ability to act and operate independently.

Pay range for this opportunity is $67,362.50 - $87,175.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
