Position Summary:
Come join our team as an Engineering Intern. You will be an active member of the STERIS Life Sciences Specialty Services Engineering Team supporting our service organization and sustaining of existing products. You will be gaining knowledge by working under the guidance of STERIS service engineers. This internship will allow you to complete valuable engineering projects developing and building fundamental engineering skills. These projects contribute to the growth of the department and provide a positive impact to our customers in the Life Sciences industry.

What You'll Do as a Specialty Services Engineering Intern:
- Learn the process of starting and completing a qualification document.
- Submit and request necessary documents for qualification documentation completion (CIFs, Executable Books, Turnover Package requests etc.)
- Learn the similarities and differences between SAT-IQOQ-cGMP- In house documents.
- Assist with IQOQ/SAT Qualification Documents Authoring and support engineers, as necessary, with document completion.
- Assist with maintenance of the IQOQ/SAT Database and Master Files (make updates as provided by the engineers; provide suggestions for improvement).
- Learn the basics on loading and simulating Allen-Bradley and Siemens programs.
- Learn the process of reviewing, evaluating, and investigating the out of tolerance OOT Calibration reports.
- Participate in the new product development process assuring that all Service requirements are completed prior to product release.
- Help implement processes and procedures to improve qualification document efficiency and quality.
- Follow industry codes, standards, and recommendations.
- Work as a collaborative team member in the Service Engineering team projects
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program pursuing an engineering degree - electrical, computer, mechanical, or biomedical engineering preferred
- Successful completion of Sophomore level coursework or above by May 2025
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Access Database (highly preferred) and PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Upper-level classes in an engineering program: electrical, mechanical or biomedical engineering preferred.
- PLC experience (course work) preferred (Allen-Bradley and Siemens).
Other:
- Strong organization, planning and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of employees, as well as Customers and other external contacts.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret a variety of technical data and documents.
