Position Summary

STERIS is a global leader in Infection Prevention. SPM is a national leader in sterile processing management solutions.  Join the SPM team as a Software Test  Engineer to design, develop, and execute software verification tests for cutting edge sterile processing software. You will analyze software requirements and design specifications, create acceptance criteria, and verify usability of engineering outputs in addition to identifying, investigating, documenting the causes of non-conforming software.

What you will do

•    Estimate, prioritize, plan and execute quality testing activities including functional, integration, interface, and regression tests for software applications (70%)
•    Investigate, review, and document technical issues (20%)
•    Review requirements, quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback (10%)

What you need to be successful

•    Proven work experience in software quality assurance or a similar role
•    Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
•    Hands-on experience with white box and black box testing 
•    Experience with Azure Dev Ops or similar Agile-based work-management and defect-management tool
•    Ability to work in Agile project team settings handling a variety of QA roles and responsibilities
•    Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases. 
•    Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
•    Strong communication and problem-solving skills 
•    Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to learn new information quickly and apply new knowledge in a fast-paced, client-driven environment 
•    Be curious, persistent, and pay attention to detail
•    Be a flexible, multi-tasking team-player who can work well with both technical and non-technical resources  
•    Bachelor’s degree 
•    Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer
•    Physical location that is able to access high-speed internet

Additional things that would help you excel in this role quickly

•    Experience in data analysis, database testing, and back-end service testing
•    Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting. Be comfortable querying databases to create and validate test data using SQL tools  
•    Experience with performance and/or security testing
•    Hands-on experience with automated testing tools 
•    BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
