Position Summary

The Software Developer – Oracle will be responsible for maintaining and supporting multiple modules in Oracle Applications and related applications.  Specifically this position will be responsible for the Oracle Applications Order Management and related modules.  There will be interaction with business users to understand issues, gather requirements, coordinate testing and implement solutions.Support of the applications would include resolving issues reported by users.  Resolution process will include, but not limited to, investigating known bugs on software vendor support website, creating tickets or service requests with software vendor, developing scripts to fix data issues, making program changes, testing fixes and applying changes to production.

Duties

Oracle Application Support - 30%
 
1. Monitors interfaces and critical programs in production systems for errors, performance and any other abnormality
2. Provides first level support for assigned Oracle Applications modules and related applications
3. Troubleshoots and resolves problems reported by users of these modules and applications.
4. Investigates issues using vendor support website(s).
5. Creates tickets or service requests with software vendor.
6. Develops fixes for issues
7. Develops changes to programs to resolve issues
8. Investigates setup or configuration changes required in Oracle Applications
9. Works with other team members, DBA team and other teams to resolve issues
10. Works with Business Process Owner(s) to test and make changes to Oracle Applications setup or configurations to resolve issues
 
 
Oracle Applications Development – 70%
 
1. Reviews and understands business requirements for development tasks assigned
2. Develops new programs or makes changes to existing programs, according to business requirements.  This will be in the areas of, but not limited to:
a Reports
b Forms
c Interfaces
d Alerts
e Data Conversion
3. Develops test scripts and Tests programs according to business requirements
4. Does performance tuning of programs, screens and other objects when performance issues are reported
5. Works with business users to test programs in Development and Quality
6. Writes technical documentation
7. Writes user manuals
8. Works with DBA, System Administration teams to migrate programs to Quality and Production
9. Works with Business Process Owners to investigate new functionality in Oracle applications
10. Works on Oracle Application upgrades
11. If working on an FDA validated system, participates in the validation process.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Required Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field

2. Minimum of 3-5  years' experience in Oracle Applications or other related ERP applications

3. Experience in one or more Oracle Order Management modules preferred

a. Order Entry

b. Advanced Pricing

4. Development experience in Oracle Applications environment – Application Object Library

5. Development experience in Oracle RDBMS

6. Experience in development in Unix environment

Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with little supervision and within changing priorities.

Ability to analyze requirements and troubleshoot problems.

7. Experience in interfaces with other applications using flat file transfers or database links.  Experience in the use of Middleware will be preferred.

8. Experience in Oracle Applications implementation or upgrades will be preferred
