Position Summary

The Senior Program Manager leads and coordinates implementation of complex programs/projects integral to the global Supply Chain organization. Coordinates and ensures effective delivery of programs, projects, and activities by global Supply Chain teams. Drives planning and effective execution of cross functional strategic initiatives to execute programs on time, within budget, meeting expectations on quality and value creation, positioning STERIS for future success.  

 

 Partners with sourcing, site supply chain leaders, and stakeholders (Core Team and supporting functions) to implement standards for effective planning and implementation that is transparent and meet internal/external stakeholder requirements. Ensures disciplined program/project and change management process and practice is demonstrated cross functionally. Identifies and implements standard processes with project owners, including reporting and risk mitigation.

 

Provides leadership and guidance to program/project team and direct report (s) to deliver consistent, quality outcomes which could include direct management and oversight of the initiative/project post-implementation, including responsibility for achieving project KPIs and business objectives

What You'll do as a Senior Program Manager

  • Implements and leads Procurement Initiatives Steering Committee to build transparency and coordination of effective launch requirements for internal & external stakeholders (Sr. Leadership, Core Team/Extended Core Team, BU Leaders, Analytics, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Training, Communication, CI).
  • Drives implementation of multiple, complex program initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams and resources to achieve multiple program/project milestones within established timeframes.
  • Manages the utilization of PMO standards and methodologies, including the PMO operating model, lifecycle/tollgates, project charter, change control processes, review and sign-off, etc.
  • Identifies standard work and practices required for project owners to support effective planning, launch and sustainment requirements.
  • Identifies and builds ROI for required technology and tools to support project/program management requirements.
  • Partners with stakeholders, project and business process owners to identify deliverables, milestones and resources to be used (quality, time, allocation, budget and information) and monitor projects through ideation to delivery and sustainment. 
  • Owns quality control of program deliverables and artifacts.
  • Owns the creation and maintenance of comprehensive program documentation.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities for complex programs and projects through the development of project plans intended to accomplish goals and objectives within prescribed timeframes and budgets.
  • Management of changes to the scope and schedule and assurance that proper approvals are in place.
  • Ensures consistent visibility for program and project teams by monitoring and reporting business objectives, program/project achievements, and key indicators.  Develops cadence for regular project reviews with projects/business sponsors.
  • Provides coaching and feedback to project owners and other key stakeholders for the efficient operation of the program.
  • Identification of program/project gaps and the work required to close them.
  • Communicates with stakeholders and executive/senior management and provides insight on risk/issues identification, escalation, mitigation and resolution.
  • Facilitate collaboration on creative alternatives to program challenges with subject matter experts.
  • Removes obstacles and impediments to ensure business and operational objectives are met.
    Drives adoption and challenges standards.
  • Identifies and applies best practices and needed process improvements.
  • Establish advanced capabilities in program and project design, where possible.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Acts as model and champion for CI and change management practices
  • Tracks and report on organizational KPIs as applicable.
  • Depending on the project, maintains leadership of the program/initiative, inclusive of direct reports, post-launch and is responsible for delivering on the business objectives and KPIs

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred. 
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, with minimum of 8 years successfully leading and managing large complex cross functional programs and projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and respond appropriately to change.
  • Demonstrated experience scoping, leading and executing Supply Chain organizational design or change management programs and supporting programs/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into effective decision making with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to understand business and technical requirements to lead teams around a common vision to execute, and success in building collaborative, cross-functional relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and methodologies. PMP Certification a plus.

Pay range for this opportunity is $122,187.50 - $158,125.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
