Position Summary:

As the Senior Oracle Applications Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting multiple modules in Oracle Applications and related applications. Specifically, you will be responsible for Oracle Warehouse Management and related modules.  There will be interaction with business users to understand issues, gather requirements, coordinate testing and implement solutions. Support of the applications would include resolving issues reported by users.  

What You Will Do:

Oracle Application Support - 30%

  • Monitor interfaces and critical programs in production systems for errors, performance and any other abnormality
  • Provide first level support for assigned Oracle Applications modules and related applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems reported by users of these modules and applications
  • Investigate issues using vendor support website(s)
  • Create tickets or service requests with software vendor
  • Develop fixes for issues, and changes to programs to resolve issues
  • Investigate setup or configuration changes required in Oracle Applications
  • Work with Business Process Owner(s) to test and make changes to Oracle Applications setup or configurations to resolve issues

 Oracle Applications Development – 70%

  • Review and understand business requirements for development tasks assigned
  • Develop new programs or make changes to existing programs, according to business requirements.  This will be in the areas of, but not limited to: Reports, Forms, Interfaces, Alerts, Data Conversion
  • Develop test scripts and tests programs according to business requirements
  • Complete performance tuning of programs, screens and other objects when performance issues are reported
  • Work with business users to test programs in Development and Quality
  • Write technical documentation and user manuals
  • Work with DBA, System Administration teams to migrate programs to Quality and Production
  • Work with Business Process Owners to investigate new functionality in Oracle applications
  • Work on Oracle Application upgrades
  • If working on an FDA validated system, participate in the validation process.
What You Need to be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, strongly preferred; in lieu of degree, 8+ years of Oracle Applications experience is required 
  • Five (5+) years of relevant work experience in Oracle Applications, including experience in Warehouse Management
  • Experience in one or more of the following Oracle modules highly preferred: Shipping, Inventory, and/or Purchasing
  • Experience in development in a UNIX environment
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision and within changing priorities
  • Ability to analyze requirements and troubleshoot problems
  • Proficient in Oracle Development Tools: SQL, PL/SQL, Reports 6i, Forms 6i, BI Publisher, SQL*Loader, Workflow
  • Proficient in Oracle performance tuning tools
  • Proficient in Oracle Applications – Application Object Library, Executables and concurrent program setups, Alerts, Functions and Forms, Menus and Responsibilities, Profiles
