Position Summary

Ship, receive, store, and track inventory at the Mentor Distribution Center. Ensure parts are handled in accordance with Company and Federal standards.

Duties

  • Unload trucks and deliver inventory to stock.  Parts must be physically moved and entered into ORACLE or AS400 system through receiving transactions. 
  • Stock inventory parts into the proper locations or locators in the Distribution Center and make appropriate transactions in the Oracle or AS400 systems  
  • Pick material for Customer and Internal sales orders, according to printed pick lists. Perform ORACLE and Clippership transaction to issue material. 
  • Pack material shipped from the Distribution Center and complete shipping documentation using appropriate procedures. 
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts. Assist Team Leader or Supervisor in researching discrepancies in inventory data. 
  • Ensure material movement is shipped, received, and stored according to Company and Federal standards.  If material is not in conformance, reject part and complete NCR. 
  • Crating of material for Domestic and International shipments. The use of power tools i.e. saws, hammers and compressors are required.        
  • Blocking and bracing of containers for Domestic and International shipments per compliance of US and International regulations. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • At least three to five years experience as a Material Handler or Shipping/Receiving.
  • Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • The working knowledge of a computer helpful.
  • Use of power tools and carpentry experience required.
  • Demonstrated high level of performance and professionalism
  • Must be able to work effectively against deadlines, and handle a number of tasks/projects simultaneously while meeting or exceeding performance standards.

Skills

  • Fork lift truck license helpful, must be certified by STERIS trainer once in position. Hazardous material training for shipping will be required and will be provided by STERIS.
  • Position requires frequent lifting (at least 50 lbs.), bending, standing, sitting, and walking.  Tasks may be repetitive at times.  Frequent use of computer.  Must be able to operate fork lift truck.
