What You Will Do:

We are currently looking for a Legal Admin Assistant, to join our Legal team, at our headquarters in Mentor, OH. In this role, you will provide critical legal assistance to the attorneys representing the Company by preparing agreements and other documents, conducting basic legal research, interacting with all levels of the organization, and providing administrative support for attorneys and paralegals in the Legal Department.
 

Responsibilities also include:

  • Assist attorneys by preparing financing, tax-related, corporate and commercials documents, exhibits, and files. Assist with the preparation of draft agreements, resolutions and other documents.
  • Prepare and facilitate draft letters and documents for review by attorneys. Prepare and track closing documents.
  • Obtain information, including records, abstracts and filings, from state and federal agencies.
  • Assist in maintaining contract database and tickler files including preparation of contract and other files and document filing and retrieval and ensure the confidentiality of corporate records as necessary.
  • Professionally and confidentially handle all matters requested by attorneys and internal departments.

What You Need to be Successful:
  • Associate Degree and 5+ years’ relevant experience in a private law firm or corporate legal department required. A High School Diploma/GED and additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an Associate Degree. 
  • Significant experience in the following, or a Paralegal certification required:
    • Broad knowledge of judicial and administrative process principles. Knowledge of research procedures, publications and periodicals.
    • Ability to accurately type 70-80 wpm. Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required, along with knowledge of general office equipment.
    • Superior organizational, analytical, and communication (written and verbal) skills necessary.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with all types of people, at all levels of the organization.
    • Good business judgment; sense of urgency; extremely detail oriented.
    • Handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Contracts experience required. 
  • Ability to transcribe handwritten notes.
