STERIS’ Talent Development team works collaboratively with the business and HR to ensure our people can deliver desired business results and achieve personal and professional growth.  We are preparing for the next progression in our journey and the newly created and key role of Senior Learning and Development Specialist will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on the business and our people. This role will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of STERIS’ global employee development processes, programs and tools. 

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) in the areas of adult learning theory, innovative learning methodologies and technologies and training evaluation methods. 
  • Develop and deploy STERIS’ employee and career development processes, programs, and tools to meet current and future global business needs. 
  • Design learning solutions in a variety of modalities to meet STERIS’ diverse workforce needs, including Instructor-Led (ILT), virtual Instructor-Led (vILT), blended learning, on-demand, web-based and mobile. 
  • Design and facilitate STERIS’ New Employee Orientation Program.
  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to assess, identify and recommend solutions for performance needs.
  • Facilitate instructor-led (classroom and web-based) development workshops.
  • Establish and maintain STERIS’ global open enrollment curriculum, aligning offerings to STERIS’ business strategies and initiatives, core competencies and enterprise employee development needs.
  • Design and maintain the Learning and Development content for the internal HR web portal.  

Who You Are

  • You have at least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in Learning and Development (L&D) within a manufacturing or service organization with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in: designing, developing and implementing impactful employee development solutions and programs using a variety of innovative approaches, needs assessment, performance consulting, and training evaluation.
  • You have experience working in a complex global organization where interaction and building partnerships across functions, regions and business units is key to success.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • You have strong organizational, program and project management skills and are an expert in facilitating. 
  • You have expert knowledge and application of instructional design methods and adult learning principles.
  • You have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills to assess and continuously improve process, practices and tools. 
  • You are comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and change and have a strong demonstrated learning agility.
  • You have working knowledge of current and effective online training solutions and delivery platforms, including Learning Management Systems (LMS).
