Position Summary

STERIS’ Talent Development team works collaboratively with the business and HR to ensure our people can deliver desired business results and achieve personal and professional growth.  We are preparing for the next progression in our journey and the newly created role of Senior Learning and Development Manager will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on the business and our people. This  role will lead the design, development, execution and continued evolution of STERIS’ global employee and leadership development strategy.  

What you’ll do

Develop and design employee and leadership development programs, solutions and offerings for key employee and leadership development segments, including emerging leaders, high potentials, first-time/new leaders and front-line (FLL) and mid-level leaders.

Design, create, and develop informal and formal learning solutions to meet organizational needs by analyzing and selecting the most appropriate strategy, methodologies, and technologies to maximize the learning experience and impact.

Partner with business leaders and HR leaders to assess, identify and recommend solutions for performance needs.

Lead a team of two Learning and Development professionals.

Who you are

You have at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in HR with a minimum of 5 years of Learning and Development experience within a global manufacturing or service organization.


You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in: designing, developing and implementing impactful leadership development solutions and programs using a variety of innovative approaches, needs assessment, performance consulting, instructional design methods and adult learning principles, training evaluation, eLearning authoring tools, LMS use and application, competency models, psychometric and behavioral assessment tools, vendor management and negotiation, and people leadership.


You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related field.


You have experience working in a complex global organization where you’ve had successful interactions and built relationships across functions, regions and business units.  Your excellent verbal and written communication skills helped you influence, consult, and create compelling business cases at all levels of the organization.


You have strong organizational, program and project management skills and are an expert in facilitating at  all levels of the organization.
