Position Summary

The Senior International Tax Analyst will support all aspects of the International Tax function at STERIS, including accounting for income taxes, compliance, U.S. and Non-U.S. controversy, tax planning, transfer pricing, and other special projects.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with non-US quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, including preparation of Non-U.S. income tax provision packages for complex entities
  • Assist with account reconcilitations for complex Non-US locations including: 
    • Deferred Tax account reconcilitiations 
    • Current Income Tax account reconcilitations 
    • Non-income Tax account reconcilitations 
  • Provide support for the preparation of international tax compliance for US federal income tax return including Forms 926, 1118, 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993 and other associated tax return disclosures
  • Review forms 926, 1118, 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993 and other associated tax return disclosures prepared by external firm.
  • Prepare supporting calculations used in the company’s foreign tax credit (i.e. interest and other expense apportionment)
  • Support local tax department and Non-U.S. locations on tax controversy, as needed
  • Data gathering for special projects or tax planning opportunities
  • Perform tax research and assist with tax planning, including memo preparation and presentation of proposals to management
  • Assist with other tasks related to Non-U.S. activities, as needed

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years federal income tax experience within a multinational organization and/or public accounting firm (experience to include some international tax) or a Master’s Degree in Taxation/ Accounting with Tax concentration & a minimum of 3 yrs federal income tax experience with within a multinational organization and or public accounting firm (experience to include some international tax). 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel. 
  • Tax compliance and/or provision software experience preferred; knowledge of Oracle Applications R12 a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills – must be able to analyze, not just compile information.  Issues are complex, so attention to detail is mandatory. 
  • Self-starter, self-confident and self-motivated, as well as possess the ability to act and operate independently.
