Position Summary

The Senior Human Resources Manager provides HR leadership, consultation, advocacy and support to the Life Sciences field service organization of 300-plus employees, which includes a small team of  represented employees.  This leader also drives HR strategy within the business context for the service teams located in Europe and Asia.  There is one shared, indirect report.

What You Will Do

  • HR Support to business teams/districts/location(s) - Partners with managers, including AVPs, (Sr.) District Service Managers, and employees at various levels to provide HR solutions and support to assigned segment(s) of the business in support of their strategic objectives.
  • Uses the techniques of positive employee relations to enhance employee engagement.
  • Partner with central recruiting team to drive selection processes, exceed time to offer objectives, and participates in interview processes. 
  • Leads the Talent Assessment (succession and individual development planning) function for the business segment, including driving the execution of action plans.  Leads execution of performance management process, ensuring leaders and employees use available tools to have meaningful performance alignment, results attainment and feedback discussions. 
  • Employee Relations/Performance Management – Consult/coach managers as they handle performance issues and talent development needs.  Directly handle employee relations issues, conduct investigations and recommend solutions.  
  • Lead HR programs and projects – HR research, project management, reporting/ analytics, and champion HR initiatives. 
  • Training –facilitate HR training sessions as needed, and help develop training programs.
  • Participation in acquisition due diligence and integration.
  • Manages labor relations at unionized facilities, including being the focal point for collective bargaining preparation and execution, daily contract administration, managing union/management relationship, and leadership education and positive employee relations.  

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of HR experience with some combination of generalist experience that includes compensation management, recruiting, benefit administration, training, employee relations and performance management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of labor relations experience required.
  • Two years in succession planning and organization development.
  • Participation in a lean culture a plus.
  • Experience in acquisition integration a plus.
