Position Summary

The Sr.Financial Systems Analyst shares responsibility for maintaining, developing and enhancing financial systems within the STERIS Corporate Finance group.This position reports to the Financial Systems Manager. Participate in global projects relating to the implementation and maintenance of Oracle in current operations and future acquisitions to ensure appropriate implementation and effective use of financial systems to allow for the automated consolidation of subsidiaries and affiliates and to provide a smooth global transition for newly acquired operations. 

What You'll Do As A Senior Financial Systems Analyst.

 

ERP Application Support (30%)

  • Work with the US IT Team  to provide financial system support of Oracle applications
  • Perform maintenance of Oracle applications, including configuration and future enhancements. Collaborate with Oracle BPOs and implementation team to evaluate, test, and deploy system changes
  • Identify opportunities to improve process flows related to the accounting and analysis procedures performed based on interactions with finance team.
  • Troubleshoot and assist as necessary.

 

ERP development (30%)

  • Participate as a project team member in the Oracle implementation and design workshops of newly acquired companies, contributing to the initial scoping, business process analysis, testing, financial validations and training. Interact with other STERIS personnel at all levels, on the detailed testing, training, and review of implementations.
  • Perform research and recommend changes to Oracle configurations impacting process improvement.
  • Participate in workshops with stakeholders to harmonize processes and maximize the value of ERP capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current Oracle ERP system functionality and capabilities. Recommend changes that can drive operational efficiency, and improvements and can add value to the business.

 

Change Management (20%)

  • Support change management for all financial processes within Oracle, working closely with local and regional finance teams, and Corporate finance, ensuring best practice is shared across all regions.  
  • Support process tracks for new acquisition implementation of enhancements and changes relating to financial system and processes, both locally and globally, as part of a project or maintenance.
  • Assist in the evaluation, testing and implementation of ERP design change requests in response to issues raised by users and act as liaison to BPO.
  • Conduct functional testing and training on Oracle processes for newly acquired companies, resolve issues and /or create defects and follow through to resolution.


Testing and Training (20%)

 

  • Assist with the development and delivery of training workshops, job aids, and user documentation for the finance organization.
  • Guide finance users on the appropriate tools for financial tasks, including Oracle ERP, Cognos, Khalix, and data warehouse reporting solutions.
  • Play a key role in the testing and training processes for Oracle updates, enhancements, and new implementations.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of testing scenarios, validation steps, and sign off procedures

  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

 

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Experience required with degree: 5+ years of relevant ERP experience
  • Experience accepted in lieu of degree: 10+ years of ERP experience with a focus on financial modules
  • ERP systems (preferably Oracle) knowledge, previous experience in a systems implementation project
  • Knowledge of accounting theory and application of financial and accounting principles
  • Knowledge of windows-based operating systems environments, spreadsheet software, word-processing software and database software.
  • Able to work independently, organize and manage own workload.
  • Personal drive and results orientation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organization processes and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to deal professionally with people at all levels.
  • Ability to train and coach new Oracle users as they adapt to an ERP system change.

Pay range for this opportunity is $78,200.00 - $101,200.00.  This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
