Position Summary

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will assist in completing financial statements for the internal and external financial reporting requirements of the corporation, including the monthly Executive Reporting Package and all required SEC reporting and statutory filings.   This position reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting.  This position is a key financial contact between the finance department and internal and external auditors.  The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will also perform other duties related to financial reporting such as applying financial reporting guidance, improving the efficiency of our financial reporting process, and other projects as required.

Duties

  1. Assist in creating all financial statements required for internal and external reporting, SEC and statutory reporting.
  2. Maintain all financial templates in Excel, Khalix, Workiva for SEC and statutory reporting requirements.
  3. Maintain the XBRL tagging environment in Workiva.
  4. Maintain all supporting documentation for financial reporting and complete all internal and external auditor requests.
  5. Interpret, apply and monitor the internal control policies, procedures, and practices of the Company as guided by Senior Manager, Financial Reporting to assure compliance with corporate policy, SOX controls, accounting and reporting guidance. 
  6. Assist in the month, quarter and year-end financial close, internal and external reporting processes by creating and submitting various journal entries and developing reporting templates and analysis.
  7. Develop financial templates, models and analysis tools in Excel, Khalix and Cognos (standard financial reporting tools).
  8. Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  9. Other ad-hoc assignments as requested.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  2. 5 years of financial reporting experience.
  3. Previous work with financial reporting, accounting and financial analysis.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel (macros, pivot tables).
  5. Demonstrated advanced level experience in the use of business reporting and financial systems such as Workiva, Oracle, Khalix, COGNOS, etc.
  6. Previous experience with Workiva and XBRL is preferred.

1.    Strong resolution and problem solving skills. 
2.    Strong analytical skills and business acumen.  
3.    Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint skills. 
4.    Advanced skill in manipulating large amounts of data into meaningful information. 
5.    Experience in developing metrics.  
6.    Project management skills desired.
7.    Ability to be a self-starter; excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 
8.    Excellent attention to detail; ability to work as a team member, as well as independently; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
9.    Customer service orientation is mandatory.
10.    Ability to interact with all levels of management.
