Position Summary

As a  Senior Financial Analyst with STERIS you will serve as a strategic partner to a large, complex team, providing advanced financial support across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic initiatives. You will provide a high level of analytical expertise, autonomy, and strategic partnership to manage cross-functional demands and deliver actionable insights. You will work with financial systems and data flows and will contribute to broader FP&A functions and help build future leadership capacity within the organization.

What You'll Do as a Senior Financial Analyst

Business Support:

  • Review and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for assigned business group.  Perform monthly operations reviews with Senior leadership including reporting on performance, variance analysis, and communication of key drivers to stakeholders.  Work with senior leadership of the
  • Business group to create quarterly forecasts for assigned groups. Review, educate and gain alignment on forecast variances to improve Customer service levels.
  • Institute key metrics and reporting to measure performance of the group, helping to maintain operational efficiency, and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Partner with business to ensure accurate financial tracking and adherence to annual budgets & forecasts, ensuring alignment with broader financial objectives.  Prepare financial analyses and reporting and present to senior Leadership regularly.
  • Publish and maintain financial information and dashboards on SharePoint.
  • Manage the capital project portfolio including supporting the team in the creation of financial data needed for capital project requests and reporting periodically on Capital spend vs. budget.
  • As needed, develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions.
  • As needed, identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Financial Planning & Forecasting:

  • Support global budgeting and forecasting efforts by
  • Leading components of the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including global capital and depreciation budgeting
  • Assisting with data consolidation and scenario planning.
  • Contributing to standardized templates and methodologies.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to improve budget accuracy and accountability.

Business Strategy:

  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting to ensure proper accounting treatment of financial estimates and to align on the internal and external communication of financial data.  This includes coordinating to maintain knowledge of items to be used in the calculation of adjusted earnings.
  • Respond to adhoc requests for financial analysis and reporting from leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Support members of the Finance team in using STERIS systems, including Cognos, Khalix/Longview, and Oracle.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+years of financial accounting, analysis and reporting experience.Knowledge and demonstrated use of business reporting and financial systems (i.e. Oracle, Excel, Cognos, and/or Microsoft Applications etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience applying knowledge of industry accepted accounting practices (GAAP).
  • Intermediate to expert level Excel skills manipulating large amounts of data.
  • Experience developing metrics.
  • Lean/process improvement experience.

 

Preferred: 

  • MBA preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Oracle exerience a plus.
  • Project Management experience desired.
  • Experience in medical device or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Global company experience preferred

  • Ability to be a self-starter; excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail; ability to work as a team member, as well as independently; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer service orientation is mandatory.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.

Pay range for this opportunity is $78,200.00 - $101,200.00.  This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
