Position Summary

Our Compensation team is growing! We are looking for a Senior Compensation Analyst to add to our team. 

Our Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for compensation-related projects and partners with HR team members to deliver Compensation-related services to assigned business organization.  In this role you will analyze and process information related to the compensation of employees based on their positions and other compensable factors. You will also evaluate jobs using established evaluation methodologies and recommends job placement within established grade structures and conduct and/or participate in compensation surveys. Our Senior Compensation Analyst manages compensation projects including Survey submissions, Market Pay, and compensation studies including integrations for acquisitions. Among the other responsibilities, this role develops salary structures and prepares presentations and recommendations for their implementation.

This role has opportunity to be fully remote, with quarterly visits to our Cleveland, OH office. 

What You Will Do

  • Partners with Sr. Director, Compensation & Benefits; Sr. Manager, Compensation; Compensation & Equity Analyst and assigned HR Directors and managers to deliver compensation services to the U.S. STERIS business enterprise, ensuring adherence to STERIS policy and practices.
  • Manages compensation projects including survey submissions, and compensation studies (e.g. structure development and implementation, integrations, re-organizations, job family hierarchies, models costs and employee impact analysis and drives implementation of approved changes.
  • Evaluates positions for grade placement based on the content of the job and various salary survey sources ensuring that all relevant factors have been addressed such as geographic differences, and age of data.  Compare jobs internally for internal equity and make recommendations for grade level changes.
  • Serves as internal compensation subject matter expert.  Educates and informs partners about STERIS compensation policies and practices and makes recommendations based on internal and external sources/best practice. 
  • Compiles, analyzes and interprets data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness and makes recommendations.
  • Maintains integrity of compensation information and compiles/organizes data for the generation of various compensation reports, including monthly bonus reports for Finance accruals (with severance or guarantee bonus payments).
  • Assists with special research, keeps current on regulatory changes as needed and makes recommendations.

What You Will Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with 5 years progressively responsible compensation experience or the equivalent, executive compensation experience a plus
  • In depth knowledge of compensation theories and practical applications is required.
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or work toward designation is a plus, and required in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Advanced spreadsheet and database capabilities are required.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, inform and influence while working well with others in a collaborative team environment.
