Position Summary

The Senior Compensation Analyst  leads and manages compensation-related projects and partners with HR team members to deliver Compensation-related services to their assigned business organization.  The Senior Compensation Analyst will also lead the following compensation projects: the annual Global Performance Management Process, Survey submissions, System configurations (iReward, HCM and Market Pay), and compensation studies including integrations for acquisitions.

  • Partners with assigned HR Directors and managers to deliver compensation services to the global STERIS business enterprise, ensuring adherence to STERIS policy and practices.
  • Leads and manages compensation projects including the global performance management process, global survey submissions, and compensation studies (e.g. structure development and implementation, integrations, re-organizations, job family hierarchies, merit, bonus, and stock annual budget development, programmatic changes). Models costs and employee impact analysis and drives implementation of approved changes.
  • Evaluates positions for grade placement based on the content of the job and various salary survey sources ensuring that all relevant factors have been addressed such as geographic differences, and age of data.  Compare jobs internally for internal equity and make recommendations for grade level changes.
  • Serves as internal compensation subject matter expert and educates and informs the organization about STERIS compensation policies and practices and makes recommendations based on internal and external sources/best practice.  
  • Compiles, analyzes and interprets data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness and makes recommendations.
  • Maintains integrity of compensation information and compiles/organizes global data for the generation of various compensation reports, including Director, VP, and SMT Total Direct Compensation reports for Senior Management, and monthly bonus reports for Finance accruals (with severance or guarantee bonus payments). 
  • Collaborates with Legal Department to create or update annual bonus Plan Documents.
  • Develops content and/or prepares Compensation Committee materials, annual merit/bonus/LTI budget numbers and compensation budget, as requested.
  • Assists with special research and keeps current on regulatory changes as needed and makes recommendations
  • Analyze and process information related to the compensation of employees based on their positions and other compensable factors, evaluate jobs using established evaluation methodologies and recommend job placement within established grade structures.
  • Conduct and/or participate in compensation surveys.
  • Develop salary structures and prepare presentations and recommendations for their implementation.      
Education Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with 5 years of progressively responsible compensation experience or the equivalent
  • Computer skills with MS Office advanced proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills are required.
  • Project management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of compensation-related best practices and guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, inform and influence while working well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong service orientation
