Position Summary

This is a great opportunity to combine your quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment along with supplier quality experience in a clean, organized, well run environment. The Quality Engineer designs, installs and evaluates quality assurance process systems, procedures and statistical techniques; designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; analyzes production and service limitations and standards; recommends revision of specifications when indicated; formulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures. 

What you will do
  • Lead supplier quality improvement projects to drive improvement in supplier quality, cost, and delivery
  • Drive improvement to quality/supplier quality measurement and scorecard systems
  • Lead efforts to reduce or eliminate sources of process and supplier defects 
  • Support general product quality improvement efforts to drive improvement to key quality metrics
  • May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
  • Interfaces with all other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
  • Coordinate improvement projects such as dashboard projects, complaint investigations, CAPA and other
  • Support continuous improvement actions.
  •  Assist in creating, maintaining and improving overall Quality System integrity to ensure compliance to ISO and QSR standards. 
What you need to be successful

•    Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar engineering field required.
•    Certifications as CQE, CQA, Six Sigma or Lean are preferred.
•    Master’s degree, a plus.

•    3+ years experience with manufacturing processes 
•    3+ years experience in quality systems, supplier quality or quality engineering.
•    Excellent problem solving skills including FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis) or root cause analysis and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions.
•    Experience in SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Requests), FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) and supplier quality audits
•    Leadership ability to coordinate projects in a cross-functional team environment.
•    Demonstrated effective organizational, oral and written communications skills
•    Demonstrated computer skills and experience with applications such as EXCEL, Minitab, Word.

Preferred Experience
•    Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment and familiarity with ISO, QSR/GMP requirements, preferred.
•    Experience in a lean, continuous improvement environment, preferred.
