A person in this position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of multiple projects related to the resolution of critical downtime events impacting our Customers’ equipment and perioperative operations as part of STERIS' Healthcare Critical Response Center of Excellence.
In this strategic role, you will play a key role in ensuring our customer through project launch activities, risk assessment, and ongoing program management processes as you bring together stakeholders and drive the project plans that are essential for STERIS' customers operational capabilities. In addition, this person will be responsible for identifying and escalating risks timely and effectively, will gather the people and resources to drive towards issue resolution, and will help manage multiple projects within a specific set of restraints such as time, money, people, and Customer requirements/expectations.
This is hybrid Project Management role and would require a person to be in Mentor, OH on a weekly basis but does offer remote work capabilities.
What You'll do as a Project Manager
- Lead the initiation, planning, implementation, and closure of multiple projects, varying in size and scope and recommend revisions in project work plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Facilitate the definition of projects’ scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Lead and varying complexity with average supervision/guidance/coaching.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes.
- Ensure adherence to the STERIS PMO project management process and accurate/effective updates to STERIS leadership and our Customers.
- Ensure project documents are generated on time and accurately.
- Utilize the PMO tools to identify and communicate risks, issues, mitigation, and change management per the approved project charter.
- Identify critical issues and contingency plans on projects.
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Prepare and present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions for Customers and upper management, as needed.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
- Consistently monitor and report on the progress of multiple projects to appropriate stakeholders.
- Understand ROI cost savings and make decisions and recommendations accordingly.
- Thoroughly understand and execute projects within the Global Service project management process/Phase gate approval process.
- Clarify and assign project member roles and responsibilities for each project.
- Serves as a proactive interface between Engineering, Marketing, Clinical, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Quality to ensure effective progression and delivery of projects. Develops and drives the plan/strategy across Healthcare businesses as well as execution of new services and Critical Response projects.
- Inspire coworkers to reach goals and pursue excellence. Good understanding of the cross functional groups’ responsibilities and how these groups interact throughout the organization.
- Facilitates and follows-up with the across business and functional teams involved in project definition, design, development, production, regulatory, quality, marketing, and clinical applications
- Refining communication styles, content, and details to meet the needs of the project team as well as internal and external audiences.
- Developing best practice tools and toolsets that carry from one project to the next
The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant project leadership and management experience.
- Proven experience in leading projects from initial concept through development and deployment; balancing Customer and Business needs.
- Track record of managing projects to schedule and budget.
- Proven experience in risk management and change management processes.
- Be accomplished in using Microsoft Office software, search engines and databases (MS Project)
- Ability to lead and collaborate within a team-based matrixed organization across all business functions, levels and cultures.
- Experience in successfully coordinating with functional departments (e.g. Engineering, Legal, Regulatory, Operations, Materials & Logistics, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Quality, etc.).
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
- Must have exemplary communication competency.
- Hold regular status meetings with project members/stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors.

Pay range for this opportunity is $90,737.50 - $117,425.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
