Position Summary

STERIS Life Science Service Marketing Team is looking for smart, passionate, and naturally curious people with a Customer first mindset.  If you are a hardworking, collaborative problem-solver, then join our high-impact, global, Service Product Management team.

This position is key to the development, execution and oversight of the global Equipment and Controlled Environment Services P&L achievement and annual marketing objectives. The ideal candidate will be a results and data-driven, proactive change-agent with product and/or channel management experience.  This position will be responsible for market analysis, new program/product development efforts, demand generation plans and product training. 


•    Lead cross-functional teams in development of new Service program/product development initiatives. 
•    Analyze industry market, competitive, customer, and internal sales/marketing analytics to determine trends, create and influence product roadmaps and gain market share.

  1. Utilize various market research methods to determine market needs, develop business plans and strategic objectives, create product specifications, and determine product/program positioning.
  2. Gather, analyze and develop business insights on competitive product/service technologies and offerings
  3. Develop and determine product/service competitive strategies, initiatives, tactics and communication approaches.  

•    Responsible for financial application and ROI of service programs, products and initiatives.
•    Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Communications to create and maintain effective downstream and upstream marketing content, traditional /digital collateral, advertising campaigns and sales tools.
•    Participates on relevant standards committees and helps to ensure product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
•    Interact as needed with customers through site visits, trade shows and industry professional societies. 
•    Monitors quality indicators and warranty costs and drives continuous product and process improvement.
•    Provides prompt, comprehensive field support regarding application and use of products on a daily basis.
•    Develop and deliver sales training programs that allow for easy assimilation of product knowledge, enhance sales skills and increase knowledge of competitive product positioning.
•    Key driver of process improvements and process mapping for the global Service Marketing team. 

Required Education & Experience

•    BA or BS degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field- MBA preferred 
•    5-7+ years of relevant business experience in Product or Channel Marketing 
•    Global experience helpful 
•    Proven Business Growth: Examples of contribution to P&L topline growth and bottom-line profitability improvement

•    Product, strategy & channel management: Demonstrate the ability to Identify right product and service opportunities and manage through various channel strategies and conflicts.
•    People Management: Manage a team of 1-2 to execute best-in-class product roadmaps, demand generation plans and marketing communications content
•    Business & Market Reporting: Know your business inside & out with proper analysis & reporting
•    Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for executing strategic plans and achieving product revenue goals
•    Ability to work remotely or in an office setting 
•    Domestic and International Travel required ~30% – 40% 
•    Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
•    Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiation, analytical and project management skills
•    Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•    Demonstrated leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, with track record of successfully connecting, influencing, and motivating cross functional teams
