Position Summary

Do you know how to look at a process and determine its effectiveness and efficiency?  Are you good at analyzing data and solving problems?  If so, join our Strategic Operations team as a Strategy & Operations Manager. A position that identifies and implements initiatives to achieve operating plan goals and objectives that align with the Life Sciences Equipment & Services strategy.  You will evaluate operations of acquired companies to determine critical areas of integration.  You will also oversee continuous improvement of service and sales quality and productivity and help with the identification, development, and evaluation of new business/program opportunities.  You will also identify crucial factors affecting the profitability and potential of new/existing programs. Assists in the development of strategies to ensure all established revenue, cost, quality and delivery commitments are met or exceeded.

Duties
  1. Develop and execute operating plan for Global Life Sciences 
    1. Understanding the dynamics of the key economic drivers and monetizing the impact of all the strategic initiatives to help establish an operating plan that will determine achieve bottom line growth targets.
    2. Work collaboratively with cross functional teams to set priorities, allocate resources for execution, and monitor performance of process improvement.  Drive and/or oversee execution of these identified initiatives.
    3. Work closely with the Finance team to identify strategic initiatives that have significant impact to the business
    4. Assist in the development and ongoing refinement of the Service Balanced Scorecar Ensure data, metrics and reporting accurately meets Life Sciences leaderships needs
    5. Leverages improvements across Global Life Sciences service team.
    6. Maintains internal process perspective of Balanced Scorecard for LS Equipment & Services
    7. Responsible for providing updates for Life Sciences Equipment & Service quarterly business reviews

       2. Continually monitor and analyze Equipment & Services Operations to recommend new Balanced Scorecard strategic initiatives.

  1. New Business Evaluation 
    1. Evaluates new business on a case-by-case basis to determine current processes, best practices, and areas of integration including:
      1. CRM
      2. Employee utilization
      3. Scheduling practices /work processes
      4. Knowledge Management Systems
      5. Safety training & practices

                     b. Leverage best practices across global Life Sciences Equipment & Service team

Education Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or Business
Required Experience

Specific work experience requirements:

  • Minimum of five to seven years in management role or equivalent experience in a service or operations environment preferred
  • Experience managing process improvement initiatives and implementing balanced scorecards and strategy mapping
  • Proficient using, Minitab, Tableau, Cognos, Microsoft Access, Excel and other reporting tools required
  • Experience with Siebel / Oracle preferred
  • Domestic and International travel required 

 

Specific skills and/or business competencies:
1.    Systems thinking, process-minded and critical thinking skills 
2.    Knowledge and proven experience with business best-practice methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, RCM, etc.)
3.    Proven ability to work at all levels in an organization and drive change  
4.    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
5.    Innovative and conceptual thinker
6.    Operates with a high level of productivity and efficiency
7.    Prove skills as a timely communicator, with a priority of Customer satisfaction and team building
8.    High level knowledge of financial management and exposure to cost accounting desired. 
9.    Strong skills using PC’s and packaged software (Advanced Excel, Word and MS Project)
10.  Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
