Our Healthcare Customers are federally mandated (by Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS) requiring vendors to have the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption. There are select Customers who do not accept any exceptions. Unvaccinated Associates may be excluded from working at a Customer site, require routine testing with an approved exemption (if accepted by the Customer) or have limited Customer access impacting their ability to remain employed. Additionally, we may be required to meet state mandates on COVID-19 vaccination, exemptions and/or booster requirements. This position is a Customer-facing role that falls under a state or CMS mandate.
Position Summary
Do you work well in teams? Have the curiosity to work in new technology areas? Are able to drive a concept into a prototype? Can brainstorm big ideas and can envision/prove how a prototype could transition into product? We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can design, develop, document and execute solutions to meet company, team and group goals in all phases of projects from inception to implementation. Using sound engineering principles, you will perform analyses and resolve issues to develop new and innovative solutions for our Customers.
Duties
- Executes the engineering activities, including project initiation, coordination, synchronization and review
- Prepares documentation and mechanical/electrical designs for technical reviews
- Prepares design sketches and assists with developing design layouts, 3D models and drawings for components, sub-assemblies, processes, or equipment in support of projects.
- Leads designs (follow up, analysis, problem solving), verification and reporting
- Interacts with vendors, suppliers, and consultants, on a limited basis, to assure compliance with requirements and specifications
- Performs routine engineering investigations involving calculations and/or tests in support of current products, new designs, methods, materials, or process studies
- Works as a collaborative team member on projects.
- Works under general supervision with few direct instructions. Carries out routine and semi-routine tasks independently
- Organizes and leads technical reviews working within the project constraints of schedule, cost, performance, quality and reliability objectives
- May lead technical staff (Technicians, Designers) on projects
- May serve as a contact point for outside vendors
- May travel up to 10% including internationally
Education Degree
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering General
Required Experience
- Prefer 2-5 years experience in engineering with progressively more responsibility required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must have demonstrated excellent knowledge of engineering and manufacturing systems to include some working knowledge in: electronic, thermodynamics, computation fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, etc.
- Must be able to negotiate well with other functions and organizations.
- Must have demonstrated problem solving, motivational, and negotiating skills
