Position Summary

As the Manager, Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for developing, driving, and executing Talent Acquisition strategies for the business. You will also act as Program Manager for the STERIS Intern/Co-Op program. You will manage, mentor and guide a team of recruiters through the entire Talent Acquisition life cycle while also working closely with business and HR leadership to drive world class Talent Acquisition practices and strategy. Effectively manage internal and external recruiting capacity, streamline processes to help team members work more effectively, and drive results and accountability through metrics and data.

The position will operate out of our corporate headquarters in Mentor, OH, just 30 minutes outside of Cleveland. 


What you will do:
•    Manage a team of recruiters, providing mentorship, guidance, and support
•    Drive process improvement initiatives.  Help the team overcome organizational, process, and/or people-based obstacles
•    Drive Talent Acquisition strategies in support of business objectives and creating a competitive advantage for the organization via talent 
•    Create and implement effective sourcing strategies through traditional and non-traditional methods of recruiting 
•    Develop, deploy and continually assess and refine STERIS’s University Relations and Co-Op/Internship strategy, programs and tools/resources
•    Stay well-informed on best practices, competitive intelligence, emerging trends, and technological advancements in campus recruitment
•    Maintain a metrics-driven organization to arrive at actionable insights into the effectiveness and impact of the Intern/Co-Op programs and processes
•    Manage program end-to-end; create clear plans, timelines, communications strategy and performance metrics
•    Works with and presents Talent Acquisition strategies, initiatives and projects to key stakeholders 
•    Focus on results and execution through the use of analytics and reporting.  Ensure key metrics are being tracked, analyzed and reported to enable continuous process improvement and refinement of strategy
•    Ensure recordkeeping, procedures, and compliance per mandates set by the OFCCP and the company’s Affirmative Action Plans (AAP)  
•    Evaluate and manage external vendors, temporary/contract agencies, retained firms, career sites, social media, etc. to determine effectiveness and return on investment
•    Assists is the development and management of the Talent Acquisition budget 
•    Perform other duties as assigned

Education Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of recruiting experience preferably in an organization with a field-based employee population 
  • 3+ years experience managing people
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field required
  • Must have 3+ years experience setting and executing campus recruitment strategies using metric driven decision making
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience with Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and strategies is desired
  • Experience partnering with business leadership and Human Resources on hiring initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel


  • Strategic thinker with exceptional data analysis skills and capable of prioritizing and making trade-offs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build confidence and trust in leading the recruitment process
  • Creativity in problem-solving, resourcefulness, ability to be detail-oriented and strong organizational skills

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Must be able to travel as needed to meet the needs of the business
  • Excellent multi-tasking, priority setting capabilities
