Position Summary

Come grow with us!  We are seeking a Marketing Communications Manager to create and manage the development and execution of global marketing communications for Life Sciences, targeting the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, research and other life sciences industries. You will formulate and lead brand, marketing communications strategies, message content and message timing to support business objectives and overall company image. You will also provide strategic consultation and marketing communications support to senior management and other key business stakeholders. The successful candidate will execute, monitor, and evaluate marketing communications campaigns with a commitment to meeting deadlines and remaining within budget. 

Duties

STRATEGIC

  • Develops creative communications solutions for products and services with a Customer mindset
  • Leads research and development of copy/text describing the company and its offerings
  • Develops short- and long-term communication objectives including the selection of appropriate media vehicles
  • Creatively conceives and strategizes brand building, while continuing to improve/support communications initiatives strengthening value proposition in every execution

PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES 

  • Writes clear, succinct communications objectives, and dynamic, impactful copy for advertising, collateral, web, email, etc.
  • Creatively delivers the communications strategy, collaborates with the team to prepare advertisements, promotional brochures and media events
  • Manages available resources to improve creativity, productivity, and cost efficiencies
  • Edits the work of others (e.g., technical marketing material, case studies, sell sheets, landing pages, emails), punching up copy to increase conversions and reducing complexity to create succinct, impactful messaging
  • Reviews work submitted by team members ensure brand integrity, accuracy, proper design, layout, copy, etc. in collaboration with the marcom team
  • Manages projects, from the details to leading multiple projects simultaneously keeping in mind the big picture
  • Experience with email marketing, social media, paid advertising and web, tying all into business results

MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT 

  • Informs stakeholders on the department's objectives and goals to ensures new information is regularly added to communications media
  • Manages and motivates marketing team to achieve goals and invests in professional growth
  • Builds and maintains cohesive relationships to collaborate with key stakeholders, as well as developing a network within STERIS to help shape future directions
  • Monitors and reports KPIs with the goal of delivering ROI

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication or Marketing

Required Experience

  • Minimum ten years in developing and executing marketing communications tactics
  • Minimum four years in supervisory communications roles, developing and coaching upcoming professionals

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in delivering message to meet global market cultural and lingual needs preferred

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to produce a good turn of phrase for copy that engages customers
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to establish a rapport with a variety of personalities to create and strengthen intra-departmental relationships
  • Creative problem solving and strong analytical skills with the ability to multitask
  • Highly organized; time management and attention to detail a must – a proven commitment to follow-through and meeting unforgiving deadlines
  • Skilled in developing presentation tools in PowerPoint and collateral
  • Proficiency with Office 360, SharePoint, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Passion for developing talent, building team skills, and fostering professional growth
  • Skilled in selection and management of vendors with commitment to results and outcome
