Position Summary

The Inventory (Demand) Planner is responsible for the development of monthly demand and supply plans for capital products. This responsibility includes managing all activities related to developing long-term aggregated demand plans, consensus forecast review, statistical trend data analysis, and monitoring of consumption in support of fulfilling customer demand. In addition, this position will be accountable for FG supply planning (make and buy) working closely with manufacturing and sourcing with regards to rough cut capacity planning and FG sourcing projections. Key performance indicators include forecast accuracy, finished inventory turns and customer service level.

Duties

  • Leads monthly demand planning process by collaborating with sales, finance and marketing.
  •  Analyzes monthly statistical forecast and forecast error to make changes/recommendations for inclusion into the demand plan. 
  • Through conducting monthly demand consensus and supply planning meetings, responsible for resolving demand/supply issues and elevating unresolved issues to the appropriate decision maker(s). 
  • Responsible for communicating results with many individuals and groups including sales, marketing, finance and operations.
  • Develops monthly build plans for assigned manufacturing facilities as well as monthly requirements for purchased finished goods.
  • Manages finished goods inventory levels and associated parameters (e.g. safety stock).
  • Participates in new product implementation with phase-in/phase-out planning that provides a smooth transition and minimizes obsolete material.
  • Key contributor to driving process improvements within the S&OP process.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of supply chain experience.  
  • High School Diploma plus 11 years progressive experience in planning and supply chain.
  • Demonstrated analytical experience or ability.
  • Excellent technical/computer skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, problems solving, business acumen, and time management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistical or supply chain related discipline.
  • MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • Certification in related field (APICS) a plus.
  • Preferred experience in planning. 

Work Schedule

  • This is a hybrid position. 2-3 days/week onsite, 2-3 days/week remote. Dayshift hours.
