Position Summary

The General Assembler I performs assembly work in a station or line to produce medical devices in a FDA regulated and controlled environment.


  • Perform assembly-type functions, using various hand tools and bench top pneumatic presses.
  • Handle and evaluate quality of small parts during manufacturing processes.
  • Promote and provide a safe working environment.
  • Inform Team Lead of any problems pertaining to production, parts, equipment or processes.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Operate equipment needed to perform job.
  • Adhere to Shop Practices including proper gowning and use of personal protective equipment and following standard work.
  • Within the LEAN Manufacturing environment, makes Safety Observations, Idea Generation and updates the Hour by Hour Board.
  • Meet quality assurance requirements and completes DHRs.

    Required Experience

    • Ability to read, understand and communicate oral and written instruction in English. 
    • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving parts and equipment variation while maintaining quality expectations.  Ability to identify, communicate and trouble shoot problems.
    • Ability to enter data at a computer terminal.
    • Basic counting and arithmetic skills required
