Position Summary

The Engineering Test Technician is responsible for executing software and system test cases, collecting objective evidence, and identifying defects using established defect management tools. This role supports exploratory and ad-hoc testing to uncover additional issues, assists in creating test documentation and training materials, and validates software test and development tools in compliance with corporate procedures. The technician will regularly report task status to the supervisor or test lead, maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with OSHA VPP standards, and contribute to continuous improvement within the testing process.

What You'll do as an Engineering Test Technician

  • Execute test cases and collect objective evidence per assigned schedule.
  • Identify software defects and recording the defects in defect management tools.
  • Performing Exploratory / Ad-Hoc testing to find more defects and record the defects as instructed by testing team.
  • Support the testing team in creating working instruction documents, procedure documents and training material.
  • Support test team in validating the software test/development tools according to the corporate procedures.
  • Reporting the frequent task status to supervisor / test lead.
  • Maintain facility in a safe, clean and orderly manner at all times in compliance with OSHA VPP standards.

The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed

  • Two year Associate Degree or equivalent, apprenticeship or comparable specialized study in mechanical, computer and/or electrical engineering, beyond high school level.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Embedded software testing.
  • Able to operate test equipment that measures temperature, electricity, light, flow, pressure, strain, force, distance, time, noise and weight.
  • Works from prints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.                               
    Proficient in computer use and applications and familiarity with Data Acquisition systems

The Preferred Experience, Abilities and Skills

  • Work experience in medical device software testing
  • Self-motivated, excellent team player, excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Pay range for this opportunity is $44,250 - $59,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
