The EDI Analyst is responsible for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) functions, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and future digital order transactions.  The Analyst collaborates with the Manager on cross-functional projects globally, as well as overseeing the continuous maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of digital databases.  This involves an extensive and ongoing collaboration with all corporate functions including Healthcare and Life Sciences Customer Operations, Sales, Marketing, Service Operations, Information Technology, Finance, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Legal.

What You Will Do

Digital Administration & Project Management

  • Collaborate with Manager on cross-function digital ordering and consumption to ensure compliance and effective processing and control of critical Customer ordering elements
  • Develop EDI, RPA/AI, fax/email digital ordering and problem-solving standards
  • Responsible for identification and standardization of key digital order administration elements and measures that drive critical business activities
  • Identify, analyze and report/resolve issues, related to the uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness of EDI, RPA/AI, fax/email digital ordering channels
  • Develop and deliver status updates and presentations to senior management and stakeholders on process improvements 
  • Follow up and escalate unresolved issues with relevant stakeholders as necessary
  • Exercise high degree of initiative and creativity in solving challenges and accomplishing business goals
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Strategic Initiatives

  • Work with new and current Trading Partners to establish digital channel capabilities and transaction sets
  • Work with STERIS IT department to develop and implement new RPA capabilities and EDI transactions sets 
  • Test and document functionality
  • Facilitate troubleshooting and change requests for existing connections. Work with vendors to enter change request (CR) and monitor the CR through completion

Administration and Analysis

  • Modify and copy mapping rules per trading partner requirements
  • Develop audit reports, provide monthly gap analysis between performance and standards, develop ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Enhance reporting capabilities utilizing the various systems and tools to meet management needs
  • Conduct data gathering and analysis by using database tools such as Microsoft Excel
  • Actively participate in the development of process improvements and implementation plans

What You Need To Be Successful

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years' experience in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering preferred. High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 7+ years' experience in EDI may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • RPA/AI experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electronic commerce standards as well as industry trends and protocols
  • Track record of success in project management
  • Experience with Healthcare, Life Science and International EDI systems; GHX preferred
    • Have strong/current experience with GIS, ANSI x12 transactions (810, 211, 214, 856, 850, 855, 867, 997) and associated business processes 
    • Software functionality of GIS along with a working knowledge of Oracle and Oracle Gateway is preferred 
    • Familiarity with VAN mailbox setup as well as AS2, Async, FTP, and Cyclone Software protocols
    • Understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and BOT technology preferred
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills involving process mapping and digital transition administration
  • Superior analytical, data interpretation, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, in a fast-paced environment; must be a self-starter able to work well under pressure with strict deadlines
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external Customers, as well as assigned team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • 1+ years' experience using Cognos and Oracle
