Position Summary
The Director, IT Program Management provides strategic leadership and direction for multi-year business programs, leveraging standardized project management methodologies, governance frameworks, portfolio roadmaps, financial oversight, and PMO tools to successfully deliver program objectives and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit compliance. You will be accountable for the management of highly complex programs composed of multiple, interrelated projects. You will also oversee major initiatives by providing strategic context, direction, and leadership to cross-functional teams. As the Director, IT PMO you will evaluate project feasibility, establish priorities, oversee execution, monitor progress, improve project status transparency, and assess project performance and resource utilization.
The Director, IT PMO oversees I&T’s participation in the due diligence process for proposed business acquisitions. You will serve as the primary I&T representative during due diligence activities to ensure thorough evaluation and documentation of security, infrastructure, and business applications.
Additionally, the Director serves as the primary relationship manager between I&T, Internal Audit, and the external audit firm.

What You'll Do as a Director, IT Program Management
- Manages programs, budgets, resources, and costs with overall accountability for program performance.
- Coordinates with program stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans. This includes deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols.
- Stewards programs and projects with Sponsors and Stakeholders through the program lifecycle.
- Applies change, risk, and resource management principles when needed.
- Establishes and facilitates effective program and project management governance.
- Creates integrated program roadmaps, ensure interdependencies are clearly identified, manage and assist in timely resolution of interdependency conflicts.
- Analyzes project risks, costs, and benefits and make relevant recommendations to business and I&T Leadership teams.
- Prepares and delivers regular, effective communications to ensure that leadership and project sponsors are adequately apprised of project status, success, risks and issues.
- Leverages professional standards for business process and project management - using industry innovations, best practices, standards, methodologies, and key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Leads the I&T SOX Controls team, establish performance expectations and standards, serve as a role-model and provide leadership direction to teams throughout the audit and compliance cycle.
- Acts as the primary point of contact with internal and external audit groups regarding compliance with I&T SOX regulations, standards, and reporting.
- Monitors staff workload to ensure team members are consistently managed and challenged.
- Proactively mentors staff to promote consistent career management, performance measurement and skill development of junior staff.
- Plays a significant role in performance management, either overseeing or writing appraisals, giving feedback and helping staff design their career development plans.
- Promotes effective teamwork and manage the resolution of interpersonal issues.
The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelors Degree required
- 15+ yrs proven track record as a successful program director, program manager, and project manager.
- 15+ yrs experience managing teams through long, complex program implementations.
- 15+ yrs knowledge of current program management methods and best practices.
- 3+ yrs experience executing IT SOX audit activities and controls.
- 5+ yrs directly managing a staff and budgets.
Preferred:
- Experience in acquisition management and due diligence.
- Master's degree preferred.
Other:
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience with industry-standard project management software and tools.

Pay range for this opportunity is $141,737.50 - $183,425.00. [ACTION REQUIRED - REMOVE IF NOT APPLICABLE:] This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
