Position Summary

As a Customer Events Project Manager you are responsible for the program management of STERIS Procedural Capital (Surgical) and Sterile Processing Customer demonstration equipment. This includes maintaining all technical equipment for Customer demonstration events (mock rooms and tradeshows) in support of the Healthcare business commercial strategy. You will play an integral role in the execution of mock rooms, with the ability to manage everything on-site for these events from set up to tear down, as well as planning and implementing all technical equipment for demonstration at these events. To be successful in this role you must have the ability to quickly learn the technical knowledge and expertise in the Surgical product category as well as the Sterile Processing equipment portfolio; to help ensure the STERIS equipment is maintained in top Customer-facing condition. As a Customer Events Project Manager you will have the skillset to offer insight to ensure continuous improvement for the best demonstration outcome for Customers.

 

This role requires in-person or onsite work 5 days per week at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ. You will also be required to travel, both domestically and internationally up to 60% of the time with ocassional weekend work.

What You'll do as a Customer Events Project Manager

Customer Events – 60%

  • Support the Field Sales organization in the execution of Customer mock rooms. 
  • Independently manage with little supervision the OR video integration Customer demonstration program across the US & Canada including mobile ORI demo units. The key to success is hardware and software updates routinely required to enable effective system functionality, ensuring the highest quality product in support of Field Sales for Customer-facing demonstration opportunities.
  • Understand the surgical technical equipment portfolio.
  • Understand the sterile processing technical equipment portfolio.
  • Define the technical equipment and plan these events that meet business objectives. Additionally, manage the planning and implementation, facilitate logistics, and support on-site set up and tear down.
  • Lead technical event operations and logistics. Including installations, cross functional teams, project management, and technical service support.
  • Understand set-up and installation requirements of the Healthcare equipment portfolio.
  • Apply independent judgment to make sensible decisions regarding the event project plan. This includes execution in a fast, efficient, and diplomatic manner, and being prepared for unforeseen issues.
  • Source and manage vendors to support events, including the facilitation of RFPs for shipping, and on-site contract labor, scheduling, and invoicing.
  • Keep accurate financial records on inventory, events, costs, and expenses.
  • Interact with Customers at events for logistics detail.
  • Work independently and effectively across the organization among many roles and organizations involved in ORI and events.
  • 40-60% travel required including Internationally.

 

Technical Expertise & Equipment Management – 40%

  • Build, design, maintain and support mobile and custom Customer ORI demonstration kits. Support all technical equipment requirements.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the ORI systems technically and functionally, ensuring all systems are prepared to demonstrate the latest technology and features.
  • Manage equipment inventory life cycle, working with the business to strategically plan for inventory enhancements and needs, ensuring accurate inventory information and precise financial management of equipment.
  • Demonstrate hands-on technical, mechanical and electronic skills.
  • Drive relentless focus and attention to technical issues with solutions that ensure the demonstration equipment is Customer-ready.
  • Adapt to various work environments – warehouse, customer facility’s, convention centers, construction sites, etc.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field
  • Minimum 10 year(s) professional experience in business, marketing or related technical field
  • Project management experience
  • Technical and functional knowledge of the OR Video Integration systems
  • Technical and functional knowledge of Surgical equipment
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with Oracle is a plus
  • 3 year(s) experience in event or tradeshow planning; Customer-facing events preferred

Pay range for this opportunity is $90,737.50 - $106,750. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
