Position Summary

The Customer Data Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate customer data allowing for timely order entry, shipping, invoicing, and the eventual payment of these invoices; to provide an accurate picture of the customer and its relationships via research/validation; to ensure that the party responsible for payment is clearly identified.


1. Validate customer name, address and ownership performed primarily through internet research 

2. Set up new customer accounts

3. Maintain team inbox and Customer Request Form requests

4. Create, modify, or inactivate customer account relationships

5. Modify customer accounts:

  • Name changes and ownership changes
  • Address format changes
  • Address additions and inactivations

6. Ensure the two customer databases (Oracle and Siebel) remain in sync  

7. Identify accounts and/or family hierarchies to be cleansed and execute cleansing proactively 

8. Utilize various reporting tools to review accuracy of customer data

9. Investigate returned mail and update customer database accordingly

10. Assign ultimate family name to accounts based on information from Dun & Bradstreet

11. Assist with Merge process

12. Perform additional maintenance as required '


Education Degree

  • Associate's Degree in Business

Required Experience

  • 2 years Customer Service experience or Data Governance experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Detail -oriented, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational capabilities
