Position Summary

As a Corporate Meeting Planner you will have responsibility for the pre-planning, execution, and post follow-up of internal business meetings as assigned by the Manager,  Meeting Services. This includes Field Sales and Service meetings, our annual Sales and Training meeting, Customer and internal semiars, facility Customer visits, and any other miscellaneous meetings or events. Additionally, you'r responsibilities include management of the meeting technology platform used for meeting registration and updating processes for data reporting and analytics. In this role you will also be assigned special projects and initiatives as needed by department leadership.

 

This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ, 2 days per week.

What You'll do as a Corporate Meeting Planner

Meeting planning

  • Management of more than 100 corporate meetings and events, per year ranging from 10-50 attendees with budgets up to $30,000 including:
    • Site research, selection, qualification, hotel contract negotiations and approval, guest room blocks and subsequent rooming lists.
    • Oversee air travel, ground transportation requirements, offsite venue investigation and contracting.
    • Food service selection and pricing negotiation.

 

Project Management

  • Build, deploy and monitor electronic registration sites for events.
  • Work on app development and deployment, determine meeting room specifications and audiovisual coordination.
  • Create timely attendee notifications and communications.
  • Monitor the budget, audit invoices and payments.

 

Other

  • Travel domestically to meetings as needed, based on the scope of the meeting/event and management requirements.
  • Prepare, analyze and summarize meeting data to address improvement opportunities and recommend process creation or improvements.
  • Assist with special events as assigned for Mentor-based activities, such as civic events, vendor fairs, team events, holiday luncheons, etc.
  • Support the Meeting & Travel Services leadership on special projects, which may include on-site meeting assistance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years' experience in meeting or event planning.
  • CMP Certification with industry experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Advanced computer software proficiency, including Cvent, Microsoft Office suite and AI application.

 

Other:

  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Must possess a high degree of organizational skills.

Pay rate for this opportunity is $63,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
