The Role

The role of the Global – Sales & Marketing Intermediary Compliance Specialist is to provide multi-functional tactical and strategic support for a variety of Globally focused, compliance processes.  This role will support the review & processing of Global Sales & Marketing Intermediary Contracts.   The Review process will also involve the partnership with external vendors, conducting background checks & verifying key information.  The scope of this role will include STERIS Asia-Pacific, STERIS Latin American and STERIS EMEA global sales zones. 

This role has a strong understanding for the interdependent activities across the Global Commercial Operations organization.  This role is responsible for supporting the flow of information across Global Sales Operations, Corporate Legal and Global Shared Services. 

This is a hybrid position office after training. The team meets in the office on Monday and Wednesday. 

What You Will Do

Global SMI Contract Review  – 45%

  • Partner with Global Operations team to review and complete contracts for the Global dealer, distributor
  • Serve as legal point of contact for Global Sales & Marketing Intermediary contracts including leading business & legal reviews, delivering recommendations to Global Business leadership & ensuring 100% compliance with process deliverables.
  • Partner with STERIS Legal Counsel & Global Commercial Operations regarding SMI strategy based on associated Background Checks. 
  • Target audience is the Global Sales Operations team
  • Actively participate in LEAN Process Improvement projects driving to enhance overall internal and external customer experience. 
  • Leverage metrics to track performance against targets
  • Provide audit data to STERIS Legal as needed

Global SMI Portal – 30%

  • Support STERIS Global Sales & Marketing Intermediary Global Portal
    • Create, maintain, review, and organize critical SMI data elements into internal contract database (Global Portal)
      • Verify data by checking against source documentation
      • Modify & Correct Inaccurate file & record descriptions
  • Gather and organize sales documents to support an International contract processes
  • Input information into templates, as needed.  Leverage the ability to edit these templates in special circumstances with the assistance Supervisor. 
  • Verify accuracy of requests and final documentation prior to submission to Customers
  • Coordinate with external parties to complete additional reviews
  • Role will leverage various computer applications, such as database management, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office

Other Legal Support – 25%

  • Support review, drafting, and negotiation of Legal & Business terms for a variety of commercial agreements such as RFIs, RFP’s, Domestic contracts, Master Services Agreements, Customer Contracts, Business Associate Agreements, and nondisclosure agreements, either on STERIS boilerplate template or customer template.  Opportunities may be in French or English.
  • Identify risks found within terms & conditions. Liaise with external legal representation for clarification and develop risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Prepare, review, analyze, and negotiate complex commercial agreements (e.g., MSAs, PO’s, SOWs, etc.) adhering to STERIS Legal & Business guidelines.
  • Analyze contract terms and conditions to determine compliance and assess corporate risk, while acquiring appropriate stakeholder feedback.
  • Other miscellaneous projects as required

What You Need To Be Successful

  • 2 - 4 years business experience within a customer service or sales environment
  • Experience with compliance related process management
  • High school diploma or GED

What Will Help You

  • Experience in Sales support, Sales Operations or Customer Operations roles preferred
  • Certified Paralegal preferred
