As a Contract & Proposal Analyst, you will provide guidance, insight and leadership throughout negotiation, purchase order review and contract management of US Project RFPs as well as Strategic Account RFPs & Contracts with the objective of driving profitable sales growth. The Contract & Proposal Analyst will work onsite at our US Corporate HQ in Mentor, OH! 


What will you do as a Contract & Proposal Analyst?

  • As a Contract & Proposal Analyst you will perform the following task and duties:
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for legal terms & conditions
    • Instruct business rules, partnering with business process owners to ensure that STERIS can execute. 
    • Ensure accurate and timely responses for Business & Legal aspects for Project RFP’s and Strategic Accounts RFPs & associated contracts.
    • You will be empowered to make recommendations regarding US Project RFP's and Strategic Account Contracts. 
    • Investigate, determine and recommend ideal and "walk-away" business and legal terms for contracts. 
    • Drive Ccontinued interaction and communication with sales, service and legal teams. 
  • Develop, plan, and schedule proposals. 
  • Compile cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications. 
  • Coordinate the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments. 
  • Research and analyzes historical data and develops cost models to support proposal efforts. 
  • Coordinate activities and participate in fact-finding meetings. 
  • Participate in should-cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives. 
  • Participate as a member of the contract negotiation team. 
  • Work closely with Sales, Service, Sales Leadership and Legal to meet strict, customer dictated deadlines for US Healthcare opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by manager.  

What Skills, Abilities, and Experience will you need?

  • Masters Degree required or a Juris Doctorate highly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience; demonstrated experience in corporate contract negotiations.
  • Deep understanding of corporate liabilities.
  • Experience in corporate contract negotiations with external Customers or equivalent environment.
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving/troubleshooting solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and set priorities to meet deadlines.  Must be organized to handle many jobs in various phases of completion.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, in a fast-paced environment; must be a self-starter able to work well under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Excellent computer experience (including database management). Ability to manipulate the internet for opportunities.
