Position Summary
The Compliance Analyst position will play an important role by supporting and developing the compliance function at STERIS. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Analyst, this person will be trained to maintain certain business processes already underway and help to develop new compliance processes to meet regulations and allow the company to achieve its standards for legal and ethical conduct. The role will require organization, project management, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively and consistently work with not only all of STERIS’s business groups but at most levels including the senior management level of the enterprise. Strong candidates will hold superior written and verbal communication skills, research skills and computer skills.
This position is located onstie in Mentor, Ohio with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
Duties
- Initiate, develop, maintain, and revise policies and procedures to ensure the company’s rules and regulations are adequately communicated to all employees.
- Participate in the review and analysis of STERIS’s international dealers and distributors to ensure that all Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption rules and regulations are being followed. This exercise will include the preparation of monitoring and audit reports clearly identifying potential issues and remedial actions if necessary.
- Work with our dealers and distributors to promote and track completion of compliance program requirements.
- Coordinate and complete the Conflict Minerals reporting process ensuring regulatory agencies and our Customers that STERIS’s supply of certain minerals is both transparent and ethical.
- Further engage with our supply chain to ensure that labor practices throughout the entity are transparent, free of coercion, and meet global legal and ethical standards.
- Support the process to verify that open payments to physicians in both the US and internationally are properly accounted for and reported in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the STERIS marketing communications team to creatively promote the Code of Business Conduct and the AdvaMed Code of Ethics.
- Assist with Data Privacy compliance processes and initiatives.
- Assist with any additional needs that arise in relation to developing compliance initiatives.

The Compliance Analyst will develop a working understanding of the following rules and regulations, among others, to remain informed, vigilant, and poised to monitor, prevent, detect and remedy improper behavior and ensure compliance:
• AdvaMed Code of Conduct
• Conflict Minerals Reporting
• Data Privacy Policies
• Federal Anti-Kickback Statute
• Physicians Payment Sunshine Act and other international transparency laws
• The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
• The UK Anti-Bribery Act
• The UK Modern Slavery Act (2015) and other modern slavery laws
• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy laws
Required Experience
• Four (4) year degree required in business or relevant field
• No specific experience is required as this is an entry level position
• Excellent PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at most levels of the company
• Ability to achieve objectives within specific guidelines and constraints
• Capacity to work cross-functionally as a business partner and collaborator
• Possesses flexibility to respond to rapidly emerging challenges and risks
• Demonstrates an aptitude and willingness to work effectively with detail, and be comfortable auditing and monitoring
• Comfortable with public speaking, presentations and answering questions
