Position Summary

STERIS is growing! We are looking for a Compensation Data Administrator to join our team.

The Compensation Data Administrator is responsible for the processing of global stock plan and equity programs on an enterprise-wide basis. This role prepares and maintains all data related to equity for employees including initial equity awards, terminations, exercises, option expirations, and dividend payments on a worldwide basis. The Compensation Data Administrator is also responsible for daily activities, including employee demographic and termination processing. In addition, this role works on compensation-related projects and partners with HR team members to deliver compensation-related services. This role also analyzes and assists in developing salary structures and presentations for their implementation, as well as aiding other compensation projects.

Position is open to a hybrid work schedule at our office in Mentor, after initial onboarding period. 

Duties

Equity Administration

  • Coordinate relationship with brokers and service providers on stock plan exercises and issues.  
  • Maintains timely and accurate record keeping of all transactions.  
  • Administers daily termination processing and communicates with Legal any forfeitures that are to be processed.
  • Assists in the quarterly and annual RSA/RSU vesting preparation and processing.
  • Coordinate tax withholding process and provide legal and transfer agent appropriate information to properly release the shares.
  • Partner with the payroll team to ensure tax groups are active, maintained, and assigned accurately in the Schwab system.
  • Prepares documentation and administers disbursements for RSUs dividends equivalents, interfacing with legal, finance and payroll in US and non-US based operations.
  • Participates in the grant implementation process for Annual Equity Awards as well as quarterly CEO Pool Awards.
  • Prepares documents and uploads required information for new equity awards and new participants in the Schwab system.
  • Performs audits to ensure new awards are accepted in Schwab and collects required Acknowledgement and Acceptance forms for all awards.
  • Performs regular audits in the Schwab system to ensure terminated participants are inactive, forfeitures are processed timely, and maintains Affiliate/Insider status accuracy 
  • Provides ad hoc reports for legal, finance, or payroll as requested
  • Works with external auditors related to stock administration during SOX 404 testing and quarterly and annual audit reviews.
  • Provides support to special projects with the legal, payroll, and finance teams to improve existing processes.

 

Compensation Analysis and Project Support

  • Assist with compensation-related projects including global survey submissions and compensation studies (e.g. structure development and implementation, integrations, re-organizations, job family hierarchies, merit, bonus, and stock annual budget development, programmatic changes). Models costs and employee impact analysis and drives implementation of approved changes.
  • Compiles, analyzes and interprets data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness and makes recommendations.
  • Evaluates positions for grade placement based on the content of the job and various salary survey sources ensuring that all relevant factors have been addressed such as geographic differences, and age of data.  Compare jobs internally for internal equity and make recommendations for grade level changes.
  • Conduct periodic audits of Compensation data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assists with special research and keeps current on regulatory changes as needed and makes recommendations.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum 2 years compensation or data analytics experience required.
  • Knowledge of stock plan administration or compensation theories and practical applications is preferred.
  • Analytics & attention to detail required.

Skills

  

  • Advanced Excel and database capabilities are required. 
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, inform and influence while working well with others in a collaborative team environment.
