Position Summary
As an Assembler, you will assemble, test, and repair electronic components in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
What You'll do as a Assembler
- Learn and carry out detailed work instructions for major component parts and sub-assemblies for assigned product lines.
- Assemble components using various hand tools and testing equipment in an ESD-protected environment.
- Handle and evaluate quality of small parts during manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot simple equipment malfunctions.
- Final test product and package into final configuration.
- Promote and support a safe working environment.
- Inform the team lead/supervisor of any problems pertaining to production, parts, equipment or processes.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
- Adhere to safety practices, including proper gowning and use of personal protective equipment.
- Supports and promotes LEAN operations by following standard work to include Safety Observations, Idea Generation, and Hour by Hour Board updates.
- Meet quality assurance requirements and complete documentation associated with same.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of assembly experience.
- Previous experience with reading drawings and schematics in order to assemble products.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in an environment using Lean Manufacturing tools preferred.
Other:
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving parts and equipment variation while maintaining quality expectations.
- Ability to identify, communicate, and troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other employees.
- Ability to enter data at a computer terminal.
- Ability to rotate between work stations throughout the work day.
- Basic counting and arithmetic skills required.
