Summary
The Area Vice President of Installation leads a high-performing team to manage strategic capital and infrastructure installations across North America while developing global installation systems and practices. The team oversees projects generating over $75M in revenue.
The AVP of installation directly manages about 200 employees, including eight direct reports, and oversees subcontractor sourcing and quality management. The key responsibilities include driving business growth and profitability by identifying new opportunities, setting pricing strategies, and improving execution based on financial performance and customer feedback. This role also leads process improvements and LEAN initiatives to enhance service levels.
The AVP collaborates with Sales and Service leadership to create and execute strategic business plans with measurable goals. They hold full P&L responsibility for the installation business’s growth and profitability.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management and/or equivalent field experience required. In lieu of degree, 16 years related experience.
- 15+ years of progressive engineering, service, or project management experience; minimum of 5 years leading managers or multi level management.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in construction project management.
- Proven success leading a team, managing Customer relationships and /or managing a P&L or comparable business unit.
- Requires extensive experience in business processes and technical operations.
What you'll do as an Area Vice President for Installation
Customer Focus
- Foster a customer-centric culture, ensuring satisfaction throughout the installation process.
- Communicate customer needs across the organization to drive effective solutions.
- Identify and address customer needs with tailored solutions.
- Escalate and resolve technical issues at the root cause.
- Oversee installations, renovations, and site preparation.
- Manage operational processes, including documentation, overtime, and tool utilization.
Leadership
- Partner with VPs to drive service strategy and ensure field teams align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to secure new business and retain customers.
- Build strong relationships with Project Managers, Sales, and Service leaders.
- Champion safety initiatives and employee engagement across installation teams.
- Set priorities, ensure service quality, and conduct customer satisfaction reviews.
- Establish systems to monitor workflow and meet business objectives.
- Support VP in managing objectives, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
- Provide accurate revenue forecasts and continuously refine success metrics.
- Network with industry leaders and adapt strategies based on key business insights.

Business Ownership
- Work with Project Managers to improve methods and identify growth opportunities.
- Develop financial forecasts, track performance, and ensure profitability.
- Manage financial and operational performance, including expenses and purchases.
- Communicate business strategies, goals, and accountability to all team members.
- Meet revenue and margin targets while setting market-aligned installation pricing.
- Participate in new product development (NPD) to optimize installations.
- Ensure expenses stay within budget and align with business goals.
Talent Management
- Oversee talent acquisition, development, performance, and succession planning.
- Identify and address training needs for Project Managers, Installers, and Subcontractors.
- Approve promotions, disciplinary actions, and staffing decisions.
- Develop customer service and technical skills across all levels.
- Enforce safety, professional standards, and company policies.
Other
- Lead special projects to improve field service operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Pay range for this opportunity is $132,750.00 - $198,975.00. This position is eligible for bonus.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
