Position Summary
As a key member of the site leadership team, the Senior Manager, Value Stream has end-to-end oversite for multiple value streams within a plant (s). This role is responsible for ensuring operational goals are achieved through effective planning for and leveraging of resources, establishing a continuous improvement culture impacting all aspects of value streams, creating synergies cross functionally. This role is also responsible for selecting, monitoring, managing and mentoring staff, as well as ensuring positive employee and labor relations.
What You’ll do as a Senior Manager, Value Stream
- Direct oversight of value stream operations and indirect end-to-end oversight to successfully deliver KPIs such as safety, quality, supply, cost, inventory, engagement, etc.
- Set the vision for all the sites value streams in collaboration with the other Value Steam Managers.
- Build partnerships with and work closely with other functions of the business such as Order Management, Supply Chain, Scheduling, Manufacturing and Design Engineering, Quality, Finance, Program Management, and Business Unit leaders; Provide guidance and direction for the individuals from these functions assigned to support the value streams and deliver the operational plan.
- Champion kaizen events with focus on continuous improvement and productivity initiatives and support lean/six sigma initiatives such as Daily Management System, Problem Solving, Lead Time Reduction, 5S/Visual Workplace, etc.
- Ensure Value Stream Leaders provide effective cross-training for the Value Stream Associates, including backups from other areas, to assure a continuous smooth running operation.
- Drives culture of High Performance teams in the department through strategic initiatives (functional competencies, performance management, talent management, process improvements).
- Must ensure that employees have a safe working environment, report all injuries, hazards or potential hazards, follow appropriate work practices, use appropriate personal protective equipment when required, and follow established security procedures. Also responsible for ensuring that employees under supervision receive the necessary training on all applicable safety and security work practices and procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all Quality Systems requirements. Fully adhere to all applicable FDA regulations, international guidelines, and company policies at all times. Establish and promote a work environment amongst co-workers and direct reports that supports compliance with the Quality System and company policy.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles with manufacturing operations and/or program management
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, problem analysis, potential problem analysis, decision analysis and planning
- Skilled in coaching, team building, business measurement, continuous improvement and lean/six sigma manufacturing techniques
- Experience in driving and deploying lean/six sigma methodologies throughout the plant and within various projects
- Ability to lead with mutual respect, setting the example of how STERIS’s core values are incorporated into the daily operation and management of a site
- Experience and understanding of end-to-end manufacturing site operations and organizational development
- Effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence as demonstrated through prior management experience
- Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities
- Ability to influence people in the opinions, attitude or judgments; to generalize, evaluates and decides, to adapt to situations under stress
- Experience in business systems development and deployment
- Ability to build and focus a team on the most critical needs and objectives to drive performance
Preferred:
- Advanced Degree in engineering (Biochemical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Microbiology) or similar technical arena
- Medical Device or Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
Other:
- Strong working knowledge of MSOffice software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills making recommendations for changed based on data
- Ability to extract data from ERP systems

Pay range for this opportunity is $122,187.50 - $150,937.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
