Position Summary

The System Performance Engineer II is instrumental in ensuring that our sterilization monitoring and control solutions are successfully tested, conf igured, commissioned, and maintained through the entire product lifecycle. The Engineer ensures that all new products and product updates are verif ied to our quality standards and regulatory requirements, successfully deployed and validated at Customer facilities, knowledge is transferred prior to operation and supported/maintained as per Customer service level agreements. The Engineer works closely with the Applications and Controls developers, Mechanical/Electrical teams, and Customers to achieve these objectives. The Engineer II may assist, guide and mentor student workers and Level I team members.

Duties

Operational Excellence (25%)
1. Communicates and collaborates with design teams members.
2. Adheres to all Quality Standard practices.
3. Utilizes Quality management tools.
4. Contributes in a team ef fort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles
and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs
other duties as assigned.

Delivering Results (40%)
5. Develops testing protocols, test plans and helps to prepare the necessary test environment . Documents
system requirements, applying workf lows, and performing system conf igurations . Reviews system
functional specif ications.
6. Prepares and performs testing on medical device sterilization control systems.
7. Assists in validation and commissioning activities carried out in the of f ice and at Customer sites.

Customer Relationships (25%)
8. Provides support to Customers using excellent Customer service and communication skills to represent
STERIS positively.
a. Responds to Customer tickets and work with the team to provide root -cause analysis and
implement solutions.
b. Provides support to Customers in troubleshooting system issues.
c. Supports Customer application upgrades.
d. Leads small Customer projects with supervision.
e. Participates in the development and publication system user guides .
f. Contributes to the technical training to Customers.

People Leadership (10%)
9. May train, assist or guide student workers or level I team members.

Required Experience

1. Prof icient in Jama Requirements Management with limited guidance
2. Prof icient in Jira Sof tware and Jira Service Desk with limited guidance
3. Prof icient in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions,
conclusions, or approaches to problems.
4. Prof icient in testing, validating, commissioning, supporting, training, and documentation with oversight
5. Prof icient in creating design specif ications based on user or functional specif ications with limited oversight.
6. Knowledge of software verif ication and support concepts, principles and systems, and working knowledge other
engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil)
7. Knowledge of sof tware development languages & operating systems, control systems, and development tools
(.NET, C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/Angular, Web Platforms. SQL Server/SSMS, Jira or others as required.)
8. Knowledge of sterilization methods and processes across multiple modalities.
9. Ability to perform server conf iguration and troubleshooting with limited oversight
10. Skill to troubleshoot, test, evaluate and provide creative solutions to problems during all systems development
and testing phases.
11. Skill to communicate in written format and verbally.
12. Ability to adapt to change
13. Ability to prioritize, organize and manage competing priorities with guidance
