The Difference You Will Make

STERIS ANZ are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Officer to join our finance team in our Melbourne Office on a Fixed -Term contract. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations.

What You Will Do

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist the payroll manager with related tasks
• Assist in processing and maintain compliance with employee business expenses
• Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Oracle, Chrome River)
• Strong accounting and analysis skills and understanding.
• Analytical, thorough, detailed and able to get to the root of a problem.
• Proven ability for motivation, and committment, organization, and working with limited supervision.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
