Position Summary

The Depot Manager is responsible for managing the throughput of mobile units to ensure each unit is updated, repaired, prepared for Customer receipt, and in good working order for time sensitive deployment. This position will manage inventory and OPEX at the mobile depot location(s) to ensure needed products are available or procured in a timely fashion. The Depot Manager must be able to coordinate skilled internal and external contractors to repair any needed equipment in a timely manner. This position will lead the development and continual process improvement of the mobile unit fleet restoration process. Responsibility applies to both East and West depot locations. This role will include up to 25 - 30% nationwide, overnight travel.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of the depot locations including, but not limited to inventory, staffing, buildout and infrastructure, and readiness needs.
  • Develops and executes comprehensive depot processes and plans to drive throughput and quality of the Mobile Solutions fleet in multiple locations.
  • Manages depot and fleet schedules ensuring availability of fleet at 100%.
  • Manages and directs subcontractors and STERIS teammates for maintenance and repair of the Mobile Solutions fleet at the depot.
  • Works with Mobile Solutions management on product improvements and suggestions.
  • Implements depot processes and systems in new markets and locations.
  • Tracks and manages fleet field upgrades as required by Engineering and Product Management. 
  • Monitors and reports out depot metrics on throughput, issues and other KPI’s as required.
  • Manage and stay within assigned repair, maintenance depot OPEX. 
  • Facilitate maintenance program and inventory.
  • Negotiate rates with external vendors and contractors; pull resources from various outlets as necessary.
  • Manages and Directs the Mobile Solutions Depot Service teams across North America.

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or similar technical field. Candidates without a Bachelor's degree may be considered with at least 5-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years in Personnel Management
  • 4+ years in Project Management
  • Strong Operational Planning capability.
  • Strategic thinking and execution capability.
  • Ability to independently design and execute operations.
  • General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
  • Comprehensive capability with computer software products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
