Position Summary

The Team Leader Surgical will be accountable for managing the Field Service Engineers in their region and ensuring that all preventative maintenance and breakdown calls are scheduled and completed within a timely manner. As a team leader, you will be first point of contact for all team members, you will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating the Field Service Engineers on your team on a daily basis and be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and achieve established goals for service quality and response.  Additionally, the Team Leader is accountable to perform quality site inspections, installation, updating, repair and preventative maintenance of STERIS products within his/her assigned territory.  

Duties

1.        Working with the Regional Service Manager to use all available company resources and develop action plans to develop effective account servicing strategies and capitalize on new service opportunities within the region.
2.        Carries out technical assignments to install, modify, and repair STERIS equipment at customer sites.  Assists other FSE’s with difficult repairs as needed.
3.        Operates and updates STERIS equipment and possess a good understanding of all technical aspects. Assists in training and evaluation of other FSE’s technical skill and knowledge base.
4.        Completes in a timely manner, standard equipment documentation and reports to include service reports, installation records, etc.  Helps to improve regional trends and improve overall processes.  
5.        Provides customers with timely and accurate technical information in a positive and straightforward manner.  Works to help region achieve high overall customer satisfaction ratings.
6.        Provides assistance/consultation to customers in site preparation for equipment installations.
7.        Provide in-service session for the customers and conduct equipment and assist product clinical trials demonstrating applications with regards to systems, accessories and techniques
8.        Meets or exceeds Regional Customer Satisfaction levels/Goals.
9.        Provides technical support as required during sales process.
10.        Identifies sales leads/opportunities and passes the information on to the sales team.
11.        Manage and maintain equipment/spares database file through accurate documentations of movement, tracking and repair statuses.
12.        Develop plans with FSEs and regional sales personnel to improve customer satisfaction with service activities.
13.        Ensure tools, test equipment and service inventory are managed, calibrated, stored, maintained, moved and utilized in such a way to protect the value of the assets.
14.        As required, submit accurate, timely, and complete reports regarding field service activities, issues impacting the business and service performance, and results.

Specific Work Requirements
1.    Successful management or supervisory experience preferred.  Internal candidates must have demonstrated a strong leadership aptitude. 
2.    Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical device (or related market) or equipment services industry.  
3.    Strong analytical/technical ability, communication and planning skills and ability to implement change to positively impact results.  
4.    Must be very customer oriented and results driven.  
5.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be competent in multiple software applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
6.    Must be able to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
7.    Travel ad-hoc and at last minute to support customers in his region.

Specific Skills and / or Business Competencies

1.    Required to travel in Australia approximately 60% - 70%.
2.    Some travel outside of Australia for meetings and conferences is also required.
