🚀 Your Mission

As a Field Service Specialist I, you’ll be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenancecustomer support, and installation assistance—both on-site and remotely. You’ll use a variety of tools, technologies, and communication methods to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring our customers receive the highest level of service.

 Operational Excellence (10%)

  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain and improve technical and service skills.
  • Follow all STERIS policiesGMP standards, and Lean principles.
  • Support team efforts and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

📈 Delivering Results (30%)

  • Use collaborative service tools and systems to manage tasks and diagnostics.
  • Read and interpret system schematics, drawings, and documentation.
  • Assist in machine assembly and installation at STERIS and customer sites.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance under supervision.
  • Collect and transmit diagnostic data to headquarters for analysis.

🤝 Customer Relationships (60%)

  • Begin responding to customer service calls with guidance or supervision.
  • Communicate effectively across language and cultural barriers using various formats (email, phone, photos, drawings).
  • Conduct machine conditioning and support remote troubleshooting.
  • Use digital scopesdosimetry tests, and other tools to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Travel approximately 40% of the time to customer sites, often accompanied by senior colleagues.
  • Document all service activities in detailed, timely reports, including next steps and parts needed.

Your profile

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree in electro-mechanical or related field or 6 years of relevant hands-on experience.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of electro-mechanical systems, tools, and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and data collection tools.
  • Basic knowledge of sterilization system layouts and components.

Core Skills:

  • Proficient in using standard electro-mechanical tools.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, even across language barriers.
  • Ability to lift, rig, and handle equipment safely.
  • Organized, analytical, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Creative problem-solver with a customer-first mindset.

Language Requirement:

  • Fluency in English is mandatory (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus.
