Position Summary

The International Distribution Specialist will be an expert on international product deployment to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective shipping of finished goods globally. You will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by working with customer service, central planning, traffic, and freight forwarders. You will also maintain appropriate recordkeeping and provide effective liaison with carriers, freight forwarders, and governmental agencies. This position sits on the production floor and is actively working.

What You'll do as a International Distribution Specialist

  • Provide and train material handlers on proper packaging and documentation procedures for finished goods shipments to international customers.
  • Work with customer service, distribution centers, and freight forwarders on consolidation orders to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Serve as a distribution center expert in International shipping regulations, assess the impact on products, and take action to ensure shipping compliance with these regulations.
  • Maintain proper shipping documentation on international shipments for the required length of time.
  • Create and authorize standard international shipping and receiving work instructions.
  • Responsible for liaisons with freight forwarders and trafficking to establish total customer satisfaction.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in international shipping.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Free Trade Agreements.

 

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of computerized warehouse systems and UN/DOT shipping regulations for domestic and international shipping.
  • Knowledge of IATA regulations on domestic and international hazardous shipping procedures.

Pay range for this opportunity is $39,312.50 - $48,562.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
